I confess. Icould not wait! I bought it elseware. This game was released on October 19. BF you are getting so behind!!! All you seem to offer anymore are dark HOGs. HOGs remind me of looking for something in your little brother's room. YUK!!!
As for TIC2 it seems to be working fine. The sound seems so much better than TIC. The graphics are beautiful and crisp. It plays the same way as the 1st one only finding all the collections are a little more tricky since they are both place & time sensative. The down side for me is that this sequel, which is in reality a prequel, is even less kid friendly & there is still no randomization. All in all a big thumbs up 4 stars... I am now ckecking every day for news oif the release date for TIC3.

This looks like such a fun game, but unfortunately, like the first one, it is hard coded for a right handed mouse. Sigh. Such an EASY thing to fix, but I guess the developers aren't interested in the 10% of us who are lefties!

Loved the first one. Played several times. This is a must buy. Was this a soft release? I seem to recall the 1st one was very popular.

You have to collect fruit and other stuff to fulfil tasks that the tribe members ask you to do. As you explore the island more and more of the map is opened up and you find different things to pick up.

Very different to the usual sort of games.

PS Wastingtime135 I'm right handed but always use my mouse in my left hand and don't have any problems with this game. My left forefinger is on the LH button and I just slip it across to the RH when needed.

I love this game, but during the trial, it "stuck" several times and I had to wait at least a minute to be able to play on. Due to that I dont think this will be a game that I will buy for that reason

I got this from the Dev,site some time ago. I totally rate the first one as one of my most favorite games ever, but I hated this one so bad that I deleted it!

You are continuously having to grow and then prepare food because his energy drops almost as fast as a rock dropped in a pond! Couldn't even enjoy the game because of that. Have to stay almost continuously in the garden!

I demoed for the full hour and then bought. I loved the first one and replayed several times. There's not much of a tutorial for this one, so if you feel lost, you might want to demo the original. You will need to do much collecting to feed your character. He seems to have the appetite of a typical adolescent. Any of the recipes you collect will restore his energy more than single items. This is a treat, because it is so different from any of the usual catagories. Thank you for this one BF.

I'm a lefty but I've been mousing so long with my right hand, I can't coordinate it with my left any more! I thought I was going to create an online signature, writing out my first name, but I can't write right-handed. Came out looking like a 7-year-old's best effort
But if you haven't managed to switch - isn't there an ambidextrous mouse, or one that lefts you switch the buttons with the mouse software so you can use it left-handed? Good luck!

I didn't find all the rare items (all but three) nor did I find three of the "special" items on the bottom row of the trophies. Reason being, I got so caught up in the plot, I kept playing ahead just to see what was going to happen. Didn't even get to the gold level on all the tools! Definitely will enjoy the replay, when I go for all the trophies!

As for cooking too much - well, one of the minor, minor gripes I had with the first game was when you try to win the trophies you end up with lots of extraneous food. Not so this time! I found this game better balanced than the first Castaway - except whoever wrote it must love potatoes...never enough potatoes! And I did get a little tired of being snake-bit just because I was playing so fast through the game I didn't want to take time to earn potion money, which meant a lot of mushroom collecting and listening to "OO! AH! UNH! OO! AH! UNH!"

Game play is fine on this one, but oh, please, could they have picked one consistent accent for the characters from the island? Are they Jamaican? African? American from the south? Midwesterners? The answer is, YES! All of the above. Ay yi yi.

I hate to sound stupid but is the first one just The Island: Castaway? Don't know if I have played/own that one or not. If someone could help me out here I would appreciate it!

I loved the first game and I loved this one too, in fact I have been so busy playing it that I decided to wait and finish it before coming here to comment on it. I have now done that but somehow I missed the "Just Like Me" and so I have to go back and replay it .

Yes the little tyke does get very hungry but I used to just do a couple of circuits round the general area just collecting and planting whenever I had a few minutes to spare here and there. I guess that the TMers among you who like to dash through a game would find this very boring but I personally found it to be a very relaxing way to spend time and I enjoyed doing it and didn't find it monotonous at all .

Playing the game in this way meant that I accumulated quite a collection of ingredients before fulfilling the different requests so that each time I received a new recipe I was ready to make it ... well except for having to grow more potatoes LOL as they seemed to be in nearly every recipe.

I love the graphics in this game they are so bright and crisp and clear and they are such a treat after all the dark and slightly fuzzy eerie games that I play a lot of and my eyes and back thank Sahmon Games because I can sit further away from the screen in a more comfortable position to play it.

I also liked the voices . I never take any notice of whether an accent is correct for the game as long as the voice is pleasant to listen to and these were .

However to me the best part of the game came at the end with these three little words ...

To Be Continued

and I am now waiting for The Island: Castaway 3.

Cherb

It's a lot of fun, playing this game. There's so much to do and so many things to collect and buy.

The story is good, it's holds your interest.

Just 2 things, devs:-

Could you please make the main character's energy levels last longer. It gets frustrating having to feed him so often and it intereferes with his tasks.

Also, it would be so nice if he could earn some more pearls in some way. I spent so much on food, I never got to buy the upgrades.

Holy dialog, Batman! I loved the first one so much and have replayed it, but this one just seems to drag on and on with all the lengthy discussions (which I couldn't find a way to pause if, say, the phone rang -- after a while I didn't even care if I missed some of it.) For those who have played it further than the demo, does this continue all the way through? Am not finding the story especially compelling either. Maybe it's just me since everyone else seems to love it.

It's official - this is the best adventure game I've played in 12 months! I loved it to bits! I will now go and try out the first one which I have never played!

I hope and pray for a sequel. I love the game. I bought both games right away... didn't even demo it. I knew it was going to be the best game of the month and it's worth every penny. You can play it over and over and not be bored. Great game, Big Fish. The best of the bunch.
