Hey lilorange. I did!! One of my girlfriends lives in Cleveland. When she heard a company from Broadway was coming in she got tickets before they were available to the general public so we had really good seats. It was wonderful. It's hard to compare. Same story line of course. In theater, you get wonderful stage sets; in the movie it appears you're actually on a Greek island. stage set of villa vs an actual villa. I really
loved the Broadway musical. Loved the movie just as much. The cinemaphotography in the movie is almost breathtaking ... for example, ocean views, view of the steps up to the villa, lighted path from villa to wedding chapel. One thing I did like better about the movie ... it's so much more visual. close ups, so much rich detail you can't do in theater. Since I'd been to the theater, I knew what to expect in a general sense but it didn't take anything away from the movie. And, of course, the music!!! Same kind of silliness in a couple of the things make you burst out laughing ... even some of the guys in the audience were laughing out loud. Let me know what you think after you see it.

I will cesse--thanks for the info. I thought the movie looked really good, but the reviews have been not so great. That being said, I think it depends alot on what you enjoy as far as the story and the music. I can't see any ABBA fan, or anyone that enjoyed the theatre production not liking the movie. And I did hear that Meryl Street really did a great job! Hope to see it soon and I'll let you know what I think--but I'll probably love it! Don't go to many movies in the theatre, but I think we will go see this one just because of the experience that seeing it in a theatre brings!

Hey ghost--don't forget about LisaB, our first HOT MAMA MINNOW, and original leader of the pink pips! That makes triplets. And we have a looonnng way to go before clownfish. First, the wonderful herring hairball, then the much nicer parrotfish. I think clownfish comes in around 500 posts. So, we have a lot of growing up to do yet!
[color=#ca33cc]Aw ain`t those little greenys so cute though.

bfgAegean, I really liked Big, too. Actually anything Tom Hanks does. I also enjoy him when he's on talk shows--so funny and down to earth.
Cold Mountain was one of my favorites. When we used to go to early movies (to get the matinee price) I could guage how much I liked a movie by whether or not I fell asleep. Apparently that time of day is my low bio-rhythm time or something because as soon as the previews are over and it gets really dark I start nodding off--even if I picked the movie. So I know Cold Mountain was a winner (for me) when I stayed awake for the whole thing.
Sixth Sense was great but Shamylan (sp?) hasn't done anything since to even come close (especially his latest, The Happening--wait for video if you must see it).
Has anyone seen Journey to the Center of the Earth-3D? For some reason I really want to see it, if anyone thinks it's halfway decent.

I just finished watched An Unfinished Life with Robert Redford, Morgan Freeman and Jennifer Lopez. It was really, really good. I hadn't heard much about it, but wow, it was great acting and kept my interest the whole time.

I love a lot of different kinds of movies: old ones like Gone With the Wind, Casablanca, etc, to action adventures, comedies, drama, - I love them all!

If you haven't seen An Unfinished Life, it is definitely worth renting. I love Robert Reford!!!!!!!

Ghost, that's from "The Life of Brian", ALSO a riot!

"Life's a piece of s**t
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you, and...

Always look on the bright side of life..."
