I've been waiting for Dire Grove for months and I will be buying the Collectors Edition. My sister is going to get it as well. Can hardly wait.

LOL Mr Russ, I guess everyone reads it that way but that is a rare occasion. I go through most of my life puzzled.

Actually I didn't see how it read both ways til I typed it in on a game site and clicked submit to register. It was a couple years ago when I was so into Big Kahuna Reef, the user made bonus puzzles, one I just could NOT finish. I went to forum Reflexive to see if the player who done it would help me out. Had to come up with a name and I was so "puzzled out" I typed it in. Name kinda followed me to gamezebo to here as that's how gamers knew me. I would like to change it but...

Now give me a 500 pc jigsaw or crosswords and more Done than One.

This is ridiculous I have an Octoberfest free credit voucher that states in the email that it may be used for any game of my choosing, yet I cannot use it for this game. The only way I found this out is by Clicking on the learn more link on the games information page. Whats the point of spending money on multiple games to receive a "free" voucher when their going to turn around and change the terms of usage of the free voucher after the fact.

Oh gee I did a double entendre again. Wasn't thinking of music, but so many here broke or in dire circumstances this time of year, a club or game for gamers in dire straits. Maybe that's an old fashioned term, now it's busted. No, that is arrested. See how puzzled I am?

CALLYSTAR, maybe you missed picman's post how their website payment thingy is hardwired this way for $6.99 game credits. It may be reprogrammed after the first of the year to accept odd amounts of payment besides our club stuff which is locked in. I don't think they realized the programming because they never sell $19.99 games before and can't be done now in time. I think I got that right but don't quote me, find his post a day or two ago. Just one of those computer things not anticipated when they already revamped the system and site. So, any game of your choosing means any $6.99 game as a club member.

EDIT in other words 3 game credits = $20.97 not $19.99 so the computer would just go whacko with how to deal with giving change. That is why he said maybe they could figure out a way laterfor us to buy the reg ver for a credit and maybe they could do an add on or rebuild if you want the extras on game credits. No promises but they're working on it. No dishonesty here, just a goof not thought out in the rush to release I'm sure.

Well if the 6.99 version also requires 2g cpu - I won't be getting this game at all. neither my desktop nor my laptop is 2gig.

Hi folks!

Since we now have an official forum for this game, I've gone ahead and moved this thread.

Cheers!

Thanks for the update, just a little upset by the whole process I bought 5 games and got 1 free voucher thingy that said I could get any game free and now feel taken cause I can't redeem it for what I want. And they have had 19.99 games before for non club members. Just wish they would have made the redemption rules clearer when I got the voucher.

I think this is something that BFG needs to consider and enable the technology to do in the near future as they will definately find an increase in sales if they allowed people to use their game credits/certificates to get a discount from any future special edition priced games.

I quite agree with you

I think it stinks, that we waited just as long as everyone else for Dire Grove. But since we can only afford the El Cheapo version we have to wait until December. That is not very good Customer Service, in my book. They should have released both games on the same day. But that's just my opinion.

I am inclined to agree with you. There's now something of a division between the haves and the have-nots, and this could have been avoided.

A credit is worth $6.99, not $19.99, but that's another issue.

To reiterate. Credits could not be used for the Collectors Edition as the game manager is hard wired for one game equaling one credit. They will fix this when they do a game manger upgrade. So, it is impossible to do anything but purchase the game outright if you want this version.

The regular version will be out earlyish December. They still need to do the partition (or whatever they called it) for the demo time and will try to get it close to an hour, before they release the regular version.

Also, it has been stated that sales from the Collectors Edition help to offer the game for $6.99. This game is a major expense and I don't have a problem paying more for it to help with the production of the next one. Something that is planned on all year can be saved for at about $2 a month.

I was feeling a bit alone at not being able to afford the Collector's Edition but, after reading all of these posts, I found I'm far from alone. Thanks so much to all of you! It means a lot when you find others in the same predicament. I wish so much that I could buy this one but, then, I started thinking, it really is risky buying a game without being able to play a trial first and what if I bought it and found it too difficult?
$19.99 is a lot to pay for a game, especially if you find you don't like it or it's too hard for you to play. And really, I'm blessed in many ways. I have a home, enough food, a wonderful husband. Those are really the things to be grateful for. So, after thinking about it and reading your posts, I'm happy to wait a few more days for the regular version.

People shouldn't feel bad that they couldn't purchase the collector's edition. I'm waiting for the $6.99 version, also. They have a walkthrough up at Gamezebo. If you really don't need the extras like in-game strategy guide, wallpapers, artwork, then the $6.99 version will probably be adequate. Personally, I don't need all of those other extras to enjoy the game because most games like this don't offer the assorted bells and whistles like "Dire Grove" does. And that's fine with me.

Some people want a more complete gaming experience and the deluxe edition fills that void for them. But others will be satisfied with the main portion of the game. I just hate that some people feel that they're missing out because they didn't pay $19.95. If you don't absolutely need the extras, then it's not worth beating yourself up over. It would have been nice to have the frills for $6.99 or $9.99, but for $19.95 I can wait. I'm not sold at that price.

But I do agree that the regular $6.99 version should have been available at the same time as the deluxe edition.

I'm with you. The timing is not good. I went over budget with November-fest and now a $20 down load that I cannot even test. Not happening here.

It would be irresponsible of me to spend 19.99 on a game I can get for 6.99 if I only wait another week or so.
