More than I have time to count - short answer - a lot!

Wow, I remember that era, punch cards and all. My father-in-law and my husband worked for IBM back then, I was still in England so I just heard stories of the adventures in punching. Boy, have things progressed.

61 (dtouch, I had to ask my husband the other day how old I am )

I've played games since the first Mist (or was it Myst) came out - that was when we still had black and white and were operating on DOS.

I own over a 100 games - I lost count.

umm... absolutely no idea how many games 'cause I still got an old monochrome apple and its floppies, playstation, PS2, cube, XBox, DS,Wii, gameboy, GB Advanced, lol, I still got old 3.1 games knocking around here somewhere. Plus tons of RPG's and RTS games as well as the ones I'm collecting from BFG .... I might have too many games o.O'

I'm 26 years old

I have been gaming on the computer 17 years that includes on and offline.

If I had to guess how many games I have bought over the years I would have to say maybe 70? Again, that includes on and offline games.

Zork Hero I think it was had some graphics. just stills I think.
I think the one you have in mind was Return to Zork

I used " I think " an awful lot in there didn't I o.O'

oh and AnnBy I unfortunately have needed to use up great amounts of time. And I've found nothing eats time quite like the pc, gimme a great immersive RPG and I'm gone for days

I do the same with books as well, Have a library ^.^ Well two if you count the room full of games as a second.... >.>'

Xaranna - was Zork the one where you had to go through doors and rooms and pick up stuff along the way - all in text? For some reason I thought that was Myst. Oh, my brain - like i said, OB syndrome.

The one I was thinking was one of the first colored games was kind of like claymation and you had to find things and go through obstacles - somewhat primitive graphics but a real good game.

Yup. All text.
Zork starts of in a building I think but you end up in a dungeon underground collecting items and fixing things to move to the next room and sometimes your light went out and a grue ate you...

Myst was completely graphical, it was an adventure game where you went to an island and solved puzzles.

Playing games for almost 3 years

Not to many being on a limited income - around 20 but now that I can purchase games for 6.99 instead of 20.00 I can buy 2 or 3 for approx the same price.

BFG ROCKS!!!!

That's the way all the early ones were. Worked on one as part of a group class project. We even added "graphics" that were built out of text characters.

We had a "tree" that looked something like:

. / / / \ \ \ \
. | \ / / \ \ / |
. \ \// \ \ /
. . | |
. . | |
. . | |
. . / \

(you get the idea...) and boy did we think it was cool!

Definately. Love the prices and couldn't afford games otherwise.

It still is cool, Eleanor.

I was completely wrong about myst - thanks for the clarification. I just remembered that I have two of the Siberia games and haven't finished the second one. That is a fun game, too. But you have to think so much and when I play games I want to relax more.

1. 49 (guess that makes me a OB-1 )

2. Commercially produced games since 1991, dorky little geeks sharing games since late 80s sometime.

3. Waaaay too many to count. Well over 100 on my computer now, stacks of 'em, in boxes. COmputer games have been one of my major sources of entertainment since early 90s and now that I'm retired and a bit of a hermit are pretty much my prime source.

Sorry, but Myst was released in 1993 and was in vivid color and pretty sure it launched in Windows, albeit the first WIndows. It was also one of the first to be relesed on CD-ROM. I know this because I saw it at my sister's and had to go buy a new computer cuz I HAD to have it. Actually *technically* it was first released for Mac, not Windows at all, which I honestly didn't know until just now looking it up.

Shadowdiana,

My Whole family adored Kings Quest. All of them >.<''

Man, this is making me miss the days when a couple of us would get together at whichever house and crack open the newest King's Quest and then commence playing it together ,always with snacks and lotsa laughter.

Lol, now does anyone remeber Load Runner or Joust? Gosh my mother was the Best at Joust...

There was an adventure game in mid-90s sometime called The Neverhood (Lucas Arts I think?) that was claymation that I *loved*! It was all adventure puzzling, I think just getting little claymation buddies from point A to point B. Lots of animation, very cute and fun. Short though, really short, which is not too surprising considering it had to be created frame by frame as it was truly claymation.
