Starry10, it seems you always made the wrong choice. If your guy dies because of the choice you've made, then click on the other choice the next time.

So far I only died once when I chose the wrong place for my guy to sleep that first night. After that I was careful with the choices I was given. For example, instead of making Tyler going in a straight line, which may result in him getting injured, I let him walk the long (and safer) way to where he needed to go. And so far it has paid off.

This guy is already growing on me. It feels like he is a real guy in the "other world". He needs my help, he asks for my advice, he depends on me. Love it.

I don't know about this game being first on the iPhone, and I don't care. I am very happy with today's PC price.

I hope we get to see more of the same in the future. I am so tired of HOGs.

Boy Valdy - I hear you... I love adventure games, like the old Sierra things, and there were several out in the late 80-s, early 90s that were all text. I had a good time with them as well. I think the game developers got the adventure and the HOG things switched. I tolerate the HO portions of the game just to get to the rest of it.

I am really enjoying this one. It really does start to feel like you are communicating with someone light years away and in deep doo doo.

So, this is in 'real time'. I'm guessing I have to wait an hour since that what it takes our new friend to get to the crash site?? Kind of forces you to get the game if you want to find out what's happening. And if your new friend, Taylor, is going to stay [Removed by Moderator].

I think I'll wait for more reviews before I decide.

For those who are continuing this intriguing adventure ....

ENJOY!

Oh My Gosh - He IS [Removed by Moderator], isn't he. I picked clockwise trying to remember the Coriolis effect, direction, etc. and trying to guess what a distant planet would be doing... and sheesh! A lot of mouth.

Just finished it and what a fun story! Somehow managed to keep him alive all the way . Very glad I bought this and experienced the adventure. As for his attitude, he is a student, and scared to death so I never found it too much. Good fun. No spoilers.

I didn't want to tell them that lol. What I do not like is I have no way to simply repeat to the start of the new section when Mel dies, have to go back to Taylor's day 3.

You know, I do not like HOGs, so I do not review them. I review types I like going into it and evaluate them from that. It is sad to me to see this game get trashed in reviews by people who do not like the genre to begin with, complaining about the very things which make it a text game - text only, rl delaying for realism. Some people must feel they have to have an opinion on every game offered, I guess, or maybe they get paid for them. Just sad to see it.

I too got Mel killed, and wasn't happy that I couldn't restart the game after I was done with Taylor. Having to go through all of day 3 again was just boring, even with the fast forward option.

I enjoy Adventure and Role Playing games, and still love those old Text Adventures, so I was very happy to see this game.

I begin to wonder if Mel dies no matter what you do. Maybe the threat of them coming back is the point. I don't know.

The first time I let Mel explore the peak (after which I took a break from the game - needed to recover from the boredom I experienced going through day 3 a second time).

SPOILER ALERT Move over with cursor to see text:
This time round I told Mel to avoid the peak. Haven't been any further than that (still need to recover from the boredom...). I first sent Mel to the Peak because I left Taylor there. The second time round I sent Taylor to the rescue ship, therefore there was no need for Mel to go and find Taylor at the Peak.
END OF SPOILER ALERT. Will see what happens next.

LOL, no, Taylor is long gone on the rescue ship. Mel is with the planned nuking, going in to verify the need to nuke and the report taylor and the rescuers turned in. Now you see why it is very bad.....lmao.

No, the first time round I left Taylor inside the room on the peak - he didn't make it back to the ship. So I sent Mel there to get to him. Or did I? Can't remember now. I thought that was what happened.

Anyway, I tried now several different ways to make sure Mel stays alive, but no luck. No matter which way I send her, she isn't making it. Oh well...
