Wow, probably won't play since I am not too crazy about psychological thrillers, but it looks like it has great graphics. What I thought was funny was it mentioned two names that are close to me, Essex and Merryman, funny to see those two names in a trailer. Anyway they seem to have a fascination with old things, or old types of this next project includes Fedora. I like their style, just not the subject matter

Three Cards to Midnight (197 mb)
A young woman suddenly finds herself in a room with a man she's never seen before. He tells her that something has happened... something that has caused her to block out the events of the past few days. Three Tarot cards are laid out - each representing one of the young woman's lost memories - and so begins her chilling journey into the past...

ooooOOOOO

LOL, yup, mind challenging hard. You will need to put aside your notions of what an object is in order to find the objects. For instance, when I was looking for words that went with NOTE, I asked out loud what a pig has to do with a note because there was a piggy bank in the room. Well, duh. It's a bank and so it became a banknote. Another might be honey, key, and love (IIRC). You'd be looking for a bee, a poem, bear, charm, note, etc. In other words, it's up to you to come up with the list of objects to find. I love challenges because HOGs are getting pretty stale of late.

I don't mind a challenge. I just don't want to go stumbling around randomly clicking because I don't have the faintest idea what I'm supposed to do.

A must buy for sure! Beta'd last night, and ... just WOW!!! Original, challenging, and gorgeous graphics. You can choose from easy, medium or hard, and I went for medium. GLAD I didn't choose hard, LOL. But would make for a good replay.

You get a hint meter that adds hints as you find objects, but the "miss" meter gives you so many wrong choices, and if you run out, you have to start the level over. And you MUST think outside the box! Wonderful!

I would agree, hard like Madame Fate, only the mini-puzzles I got to were not quite as hard as MF. Maybe in the challenge mode they would be.

My only gripe is that I got a window in the middle of my screen with the game in it - but not a Windows window. It is like the screen is black except for the game window. It was a little small to be hunting small objects in, and not sure if you can get it bigger. Anyone know? Yes, some of the objects are small, and you have to be careful where you click. I clicked on a "cube" that went with "sugar", and it gave me two misses, as I clicked twice. Hit the hint, and it indicated what I clicked on. Had to pin it right in the center.

Hope it will end up here or on GH where I have club memberships, but if not, I guess I will buy it anyway, LOL. It is really creepy - even more than RTR in a way. It is the subtle psycho-creepy like Dracula-Dragon or Redrum, though Redrum is mild... But then, I like creepy, so it is up my alley!

Phatkhat, what site offered the Beta? I really do like the sound of this game.

Got an email to Beta test ... enjoyed it very much. Very different. And, the storyline is intriguing. Need to brush up on my astrological knowledge, though, before the game is released!!

Just got an email from a fellow casual gamer about this game. It's independently developed, reworks the HO genre, has incredible art, a fantastic story and may just be the game of the year. It can be played in Easy, Medium or hard modes and has strong replay value.

That's the good news. The bad news is that it was beta'd on RealArcade so might not make it to BFG. Then again, there are many non-exclusive games that make it to all the sites.

Since I would give up gaming before dealing with RA, I'll be waiting a bit and then, if it doesn't show up here, downloading it directly from the publisher. The site says the game is $20 which is a bit hard to take when you're used to the BFG price. But if the game really is that good then A) it's worth it and b) I don't mind supporting this publisher so that they can make more games.

If I do buy the game directly from the publisher, I might drop them a little email. A kindly worded suggestion that they talk to BFG about the next game. Explain that BFG offers fantastic customer service and a superior experience for the player.

If you've been working on a game for two years, you may not have had time to compare sites from a member's perspective. They might not know that there is an enormous difference between the pay-for-play gaming portals.

I loved the Tex Murphy games. I played Martian Memoradum (my first PC adventure game) and Under a Killing Moon. Great games.

Tried this game and loved it. But I am not sure why anyone would put out a game that is not 100% compatible with Vista in this day and age. Game ran smoothly but graphics left a lot to be desired....

I thought the graphics were fine, though it had a "frame" in the middle with the game scenes in it, so it was not full screen. I'm running Vista, as well, and not sure if that is a glitch, or just the way it's made.

Zebo has a discussion on it, and says about 8 hours of non-linear play, the various difficulty levels will get you different play, and there are several endings possible! Reckon if BFG will ever get it, since Real has got it first? I really, really want this game!!!

This game came out on RA yesterday. Does anyone know, how to tell if this exclusive to them or will BFG even get a shot at offering us this game. Thx

Hi, everyone! I just did a 1 hour demo of this game and it is fantistic! You have to do a wee bit of thinking before you click on an object. I am also hoping that gets this because I do not buy from any other game site. I trust more than any other..been there done that and have had a few probs with those other sites.
Hopefully it will be here soon!

I haven't played this and don't visit RA at all so i can't answer the question, but Cate West Vanishing Files finally got here.......after the exclusive was over which took about a year I think.

I did the 1 hour demo on GH. I also do not go to RA. Maybe you would feel GH is better to do a demo on. I have not had any probs there. Enjoy the demo if you choose to go there.

Downloading from Big Finish Game site now. I'm totally not buying from RA and it's worth the $20, for sure. It comes in a zip file and is 208MB so it will take a bit. Got the key code almost immediately after purchasing it via Paypal although you do have the credit card option.

I needed a weekend distraction. Off to play!!
