I enjoyed the first 12 Labours and this one also seems fun.

There are 3 modes, relaxed, normal and hard.

Something new is having to find a puzzle piece on each level, out of the 5 levels I played I only found 3 of them so far!
You also have to click to get rid of some flying nuisance or your workers do not move, so far this was not too intrusive or clicky.
also thieves that can steal your resources

Similar achievements to the first game...

Three modes of play: Relaxed, Casual, and Expert. Modes can be changed during play. Even in Expert mode, you can finish the level when the timer runs out. You can click ahead 3 moves as in the first game.

If you played the first 12 Labours of Hercules, you will notice a few changes in the gameplay. Each level has a puzzle piece to find and a puzzle to complete for each episode (10 levels), which will activate a bonus level.

Hercules is out of the hammock! He is now standing! He still does the "tough" work. He's still lazy; after all, he IS a god!

Resource buildings start only producing 1 item at a time. Resources on the ground and renewable resources are generally a lot fewer than previous game. The Storehouse is now a spot for workers to return to and will upgrade the amount of resources you can store; it will not increase the number of resources you collect as before. For me, these made the game seem a lot more clickier than before.

Once again, there are the shoot-'em type mini games and in some of the levels. The shoot-'ems during the level aren't so bad; but those type of mini games drive me bonkers!

New to this game, is the developers score. Try to beat it, if you can! This game is quite challenging in Expert mode. Add the "beat the devs score" challenge to it and it makes it a bit tougher.

Great graphics and story. I'm a little more than halfway through the game and have really enjoyed it so far.

I want to add- although I overall like the game-
I really dislike when they turn an otherwise nice strategy game into a hidden object game.
Having to look for the puzzle piece at the beginning of each level is no fun, and takes away from the flow of the game IMO.

You know whats funny - I just bought the first game about a week ago, thinking it was new. I just had never noticed it before.
One thing that's greatly improved in this game from the first one, and its not such a biggie but its definitely an improvement - the voiceover guy/lady. In the first one, he was just god-awful LOL & now they've got a woman doing it.
I recall listening to the things he was saying in the first & the term "Iambic pentameter" just popped in my head out because the rhythm at which the guy was reading the um, stuff was quite off.
I'm not even sure if it all rhymed or not. But this time, they do that very well. You can understand her & also its apparent that the lines rhyme with each other.

As for the game I am thinking....do I need a second one so soon? Is there anything that stands out that makes me "have to have this"? Still trying to decide. I am exactly 30 minutes into the demo.

I liked the game, it's very similar to the first one. I played it in normal and wished I had played it at a harder level. It only took hours to finish the game with three gold stars. I never try for achievements but got them all but three ("Beat the Developer Record 10 Times" "Play All the Mini Games Perfectly" and "Earn all of the Achievement Awards"). I'm not the most skilled player, so I do suggest playing it in the hardest mode.

I enjoyed this game slightly more than the first one except for level 2.10. I don't have the manual dexterity (or desire) to play whack-a-mole fast enough to get gold on this level. I'd appreciate developers who understand that some of us senior citizens with arthritic fingers like to play games, too! I don't see any particular reason we have to have a speed clicking level.

I really enjoyed playing the first game but am finding it almost impossible to gett a gold star in all levels. I am sorry but after repeating the same level over and over - like 10 to 20 times the game is no longer enjoyable just boring and frustrating

While I enjoyed the first game, to be honest quite honest, most of the time I had no idea what I was doing. I then played the third release, which I enjoyed immensely. I know I must have played some levels more than one hundred times attempting to meet achievements, beat records, including my own, etc.

As for my review of this release, the second in the trilogy, it must be noted I have only completed level one (expert mode) at the time of this writing. I have found, and appreciate, that the early levels are more difficult in relation to their order as compared to the other two games (i.e. tricks and other mode of gameplay required to meet Gold time do not appear until much later in the other games). What is bothering me the most about this game thus far, is that I have found it rather boring. Not because it is too easy or too difficult, but because of the excessively repetitive tasks without the use of bonuses to accelerate or alter the play on each level.

Overall, repetitive tasks are both inherent and enjoyable in these games; however in this release, at least on level one, there is much less strategy and much greater emphasis on running back and forth, (in what seems to be slow motion), to acquire the amount of resources needs to move on to the next obstacle.

It is my hope that some balance will be found in the higher levels, much like in the third release.

I agree with the "wack-a-mole" comment. What good is "relaxed" mode when I have to compete with thieves? Not a buy for me.
