HO on CD

[Post New]by nantyglyn on Jul 6, 08 1:23 PM
Has anyone else received a CD in the mail from BFG containing trial versions of 10 HO games? For those of us here, it's like "preaching to the choir". These are all games that have been out now for awhile, so nothing new for us. I suppose it might hook in some folks that don't follow the new games so closely. I hope the marketing strategy works!

I received one of these. Most of the games I either own or have played the trial version already. But I guess it's a good strategy for hooking in new customers.

I got all excided when my hubby brought the mail in and said
"you got a CD from Big Fish with 10 NEW HIDDEN OBJECT
GAMES on it".
I thought I really got 10 NEW games.
But I already have all of these either from here or somewherre else
I'd give it to my grandson but they are only thirty minute demos

I think the reason they sent them to us is so that we'd give them to a friend, knowing full well that we've most likely played them all, in hopes of getting new customers. And that's exactly what I intend to do! VERY smart move, .

Yes, I agree that was very smart marketing. Some folks are hesitant to download, but will try the games on cd. Then, once they do, well, the rest will be history!

I want one!! WAAAAHHHHHH!!! All I've ever gotten from BF was a coupon card, maybe for the 99 cent Titanic when Amazon came out.

But did anyone else notice that they put some of their really crappy games on there? Wouldn't you think they'd offer their best in order to pull in more business?

I got it today, but I haven't really had a chance to look at it yet. I've been gone most of the day.

I got mine last week and gave it to my neighbor's daughter who loves to play games on my computer. She was so happy. I gave her the last CD we got, too, can't rmeember what was on that one.

cesse - send them a note and ask for it. But you've probably played all the games on it already, anway.

thanks, Lisa. at least I'm not alone LOL hummmm, think I'll look at this as something to look forward to -- that BFG will send me a CD and I'll receive it soon. and then .... I'll probably realize I've played them all and give it to a neighbor. sigh

I don't know about the rest of you, but my CD had the DaVinci game, Animal Agents, Blood Ties, Miss Teri Tale, Count of Monte Cristo, and Haunted Hotel on it, games that I thought were less than stellar, to put it nicely. I just don't think that these are the games they should have used to represent themselves and hopefully draw new customers in. I mean, since it's only a "trial version" of each game, what harm would it have done to put some of the higher quality games, such as MCF or HE games on there? THAT would've been more appealing and more likely to have their intended affect. It's not like they'd lose any on them. I just don't get it.

Hi Gina. If those are the games on the CD, then I'd agree. Madame Fate demo should have been included since it's so unique and challenging.

Oh now after what GinaBean said I'm almost embarrassed to admit it but I bought 4 out of the 6 games on the CD. I guess I'm glad now that I didn't receive it either. I do agree that MCF and HE should have been included to peak gamers interest.

I didn't get it either, maybe I will in a few days. Airmail or boat or something, things take a bit longer to get here. I like free gifts and I can pass it to my now retired mum.

You really aren't missing too much. It's a CD with the same demos on it that are on the BF site. I hear they are only 30 minutes long too. I may send mine to my niece.
