It took 20 some hours to reach level 19 it has been another 17 and no movement because I can not get the items needed to advance. This game is fun, until it is not due to the repetitiveness.

I started playing this hidden objects game about two years ago when I was recuperating from surgery. At first I found it frustrating to wait for the scenes to become active again but as the game progressed more scenes became available and after a certain level it was much more fun. I like how the developers continuously mix things up and toss in some additional challenges. I really enjoy the spring, halloween, and christmas events!

My biggest disappointment with this games is that I recently made it to level 76. Guess that's the end?!!!! I'm not sure how long everyone's been waiting for an update but since just about all of my "friends" are stuck at the same level, I'm guessing it's been a long time? Seriously...I loved playing this game during my lunch break or when I had a few minutes to spare. I played on a daily basis. Now I'm just frustrated. The developers added a new mini-challenge but come on - spend the time getting the rest of the game updated. You can't just leave us all hanging. There must be plans since our good friend John is already at level 121.

I would give this game 5 out of 5 stars especially because the graphics are outstanding. But I can't give more than 3 because I'm feeling cheated at this point.

Some feedback for the devs: I've done every single castle challenge for the past year and a half, but this time? No. The amount of time and in-game gold I'd have to spend this time around is inordinate, especially because the avatars are the worst I've seen so far. Two children in bunny suits? The ginger bunny at the end would have been fine as a reward for 10 or 20 days, but it's not worth the hassle of 30 days. A suggestion: once we reach the 10 day mark, let us chose from 10-day reward avatars past and present, and so on for 20 and 30 too. That way people can still get avatars that are no longer available, in case they don't like the current one.

I have to say I am enjoying the game so far. but one thing I will have to say that is a bit off putting is the grid for gold you need to do to unlock a new HO spot or something else. I mean I wile it is fun and all but doing that and only getting 50 gold pre dose make it hard to get something unlocked in the long run. All in all I will give the game a 5 out of 5 for the story and quest's but a 3 out of 5 for how much gold you get from HO.

I have reached level 57 after playing this game for about two years. There are currently 12 new HO scenes to unlock and I'm frustrated at the number of coins needed to unlock them; over 100,000 coins. This is disheartening when the rewards earned are minimal in comparison to the cost of the challenge. I think the developers should to take a relook at how they can make advancing in the game less frustrating and more rewarding.

cLeahpatra, The easy way to get more coins is to do the daily challenges and the Castle challenge. Mini-events can also be used to get more coins. That way you get more coins and still have fun along the way. You can still do the requirements for a higher level that don't require coins. My goal is to have fun along the way and if I reach a requirement that uses something that I don't have, I try to find a "fun way" to get it. Another way is to set a personal goal for yourself - maybe to get 1,000 coins a day (20 HOS's). Have fun - that's what this game and this forum are all about.

Update: just finished the Castle Challenge. Since the last update (Level increase to 78), I have acquired over 100,000 coins in doing just what I've said above. It is possible to have fun AND get coins! Good luck.

Sorry to have to ask, but do you HAVE to spend real money???? I did read a bit about this but I need a clear answer.
Once bitten, twice shy.
Good game, I like the depth, the variety. For me that's enough.

Hello Fishmetoo,

Thanks so much for reaching out. I'll be happy to provide some more information about spending money within the game.

Midnight Castle is a Free-to-Play game, which means it can absolutely be downloaded and played without having to make any purchases. Players do, if they so choose, have the ability to spend real money within the game to enhance the playing experience. What's great about Free-to-Play games is that you can really personalize how you play the game, including making the decision to spend money on it or not.

The help page below offers more information about Free-to-Play games.

Thanks for your patience, and please don't hesitate to PM me or another of the active Moderator if further questions or concerns arise. We're here to help.

I’ve been playing the game for sometime now and I truly love it! I’ve actually gotten over 2 million in coins! There are a few things that should be changed however such as only getting 50 coins per HOS. Also when crafting items it seems that you can only get 231 coins if you land on that I think you should get more coins as you craft more. Also the avitars you use for castle challenges are really stupid! I also would like to see less wait time on HOS and on pets

remember folks this is a game and should be played that way. so many are in a hurry to get to the finish line but do not realize this game is still a work in progress and with the work of those who create it, hopefully will never end. Thank you devs for giving us something to always look forward to in these times where our futures are so uncertain.

the castle challenge

Here I am again with feedback on the castle challenge.

Out 9 dice matches, I'm lucky to win 3. Same with the Fortune Wheel, lost 12000 gold last time trying to get one star. That is not my idea of fun.

I had hoped the devs would listen to feedback but this new castle challenge again has RNG challenges. I'll pass.

As for the avatars, the big cat in the final one is cute but Mowgli isn't and neither are the previous two avatars. All three look angry. I suggested allowing us to choose our avatars after 10, 20 and 30 day marks from those who are available.

Make the game more appealing.

Hi all,

I just wanted to say that in order to really appreciate all MC has to offer, you have to give yourself a reasonable amount of time to play. If you rush too much you run the risk of overextending your resources. There is definitely a different feel to the game when you are working through levels vs waiting for an update. Spend your time wisely. Do the rounds to prepare, or craft, or puzzles etc. What makes MC so special is the myriad of options for you to develop your own gaming style.

I left the game 2 1/2 years ago mainly out of frustration. I wanted to be further along, wanted more coins, more everything and that Ol' Bow Figurine was not hearing any of it...I returned last October because I was curious about the game.

I restarted my game on a tablet this time not a PC. I finished all content to date, in a little less than 10 months. I play every day but not all day long. I have enjoyed the experience tremendously. As you progress it does take more resources. I expected the costs to ramp up as I achieved more. Some levels took weeks, some mere days, some hours. My advise to anyone frustrated with their progress, walk away for a bit. Games are not sweat factories, they're labors of love. I have to say as a FTP game, MC stands mountains above it's nearest competitor. In all my game play, I have never paid for diamonds or coins. Please don't rush yourselves into a corner of woe over it.

Take your time and define your own goals for the game. Believe me when I say there are some levels I literally skidded over the finish line of a level by the seat of my pants. You don't have to be a millionaire to finish but you do have to embrace the fact that this game at it's core is a HOG. Do the rounds, do the rounds etc is the honest truth.

Regarding avatars...some are definitely better than others...I happen to really like this last batch.

Good gaming wishes to all..

Great game, I've played it pretty regularly since I downloaded it a year ago. It's so totally addictive!!
I love that the game changes theme throughout the year to coincide with Halloween (still waiting on that theme this year?!), Christmas, spring etc and that you get special bonuses from these special playing themes.
Although I've found the further on I've become, (now on level 38) the harder it is to do anything.
The wait times on the rooms once you've been in is sooo ridiculously long. Quests focus in the same areas, so it can take an age just to complete them if you don't have any energy for an amulet, also only 20 energy balls a day are silly low if you have to wait so long for rooms to become active again...
The plain stamp, or lack of, is starting to drive me insane.
Its taken me three/four days of after work play just to get 6 stamps!!! That's with playing every room, sometimes twice if they've activated again in the hours it's being played. I'm now in a situation where I have all my craft items, but need 30...30(!!!!!) plain stamps.
You can play nearly every room and not even get 1 plain stamp. Your pets NEVER seem to find them, even though they're meant to find what you need.
If I need 30 plain stamps I don't need them to bring me x amount of blue, green or purple!!
Unfortunately this is now putting me off the game. There seems to be little reward of what you actually need.
30'stamps is going to take me forever, and the following quest ALWAYS seems to require more of what you've just cleared out of.
It would be better if it wasn't so difficult to acquire certain items if they are needed in such vast quantities. How else are people meant to get them?
Bulk buying gems is overpriced for the amount you get and for the amount you need to spend in craft sections.l depending on how many you need...
I'd like to see another addition of something like the fortune wheel, air ship or game table somewhere. It would be nice to mix up playing rooms with other games a bit more.
Aside from the small niggling things, compared to other similar games, this in my
Opinion has the better graphics, user interface and has managed to hold my attention longer than any other game I've downloaded.
