Played the trail version of Affair Bureau. Save your money/credits; it is not a very good game.
It runs very slowly and is very unresponsive on a very fast computer. There is a lot of wasted time between scenes as it slowly "drives" to the next location. The first jigsaw puzzle was virtually non-responsive. Often had trouble even getting it to move a puzzle piece. The font used on the clue lists is terrible. What appeared to be "water x's" in one scene turned out to be "water x 3." The Hidden Objects are hard to find, not because they are cleverly hidden but because they are mostly very, very small.and the scenes are often very, very dark. And even worse, there is a language problem. For example, the clue says find a flashlight, but the object is really a lantern. The clue asks for two reels in a shed full of fishing gear. Tthere are two reels indeed but they aren't the objects. The objects actually are two spools, one very clearly a spool of thread, neither in any way resembling a reel of any kind. There is a "tin" that turns out to be a spool of wire in another scene. As a result, you can never be entirely sure what the desired hidden object is, which adds to the frustration of very tiny objects that are hard to see. |
