The most wonderful thing happened

To me yesterday...I was on Facebook and did a search for some people I might have know way back when. And, lo and behold, I ran across a guy I was best buds with in high school. We were real tight back then but, you know how it goes....life intruded and we drifted apart. Well, we started chatting on Facebook and then exchanged numbers and chatted on the phone, and it was amazing. I haven't spoken to this guy in, oh about 10 years at least, but there we were gabbing for hours like those 10 years didn't exist. And none of that awkward stuff that sometimes happens when you run into someone you used to be close to but haven't seen in forever. Nope, we were immediately back into that "two peas in a pod" mode without feeling the least bit awkward or unsure. It was so awesome to run into this guy again after all this time and to have things be so comfortable...almost like we never parted ways. And the most amazing thing...he now lives only a few hours away from me. I see a road trip in my future.

oh sillyfeet how awesome, there is some that i wish i could get to see again that was very close, but lost touch with and can't seem to find(i have looked). I hope that you can meet up soon as it is so nice to talk with someone that knows you and your school days.

oh wow, that's definitely not something you hear about everyday! But, that's a great story--it's always so nice to hear an upbeat story like that! I hope you guys are able to remain in contact and not drift apart again!! Congrats, Sillyfeet, that sounds like a delightful surprise!

Yes, it is great. The trouble me and this guy used to get into...oh, the memories. He's one of those people who knows ALL my secrets. LOL

I still get confused on Facebook, but I'm muddling through.

I also found two long lost really good friends via Facebook. Technology is great. Thanks for sharing good news.

How wonderful for you, sillyfeet! It's so great to hear such good things happening in your life. I 'll be hoping that you get to take that road trip so you can have a real good close-up time with your bud. I'm afraid I don't know very much about Facebook, even though I've gone there from time to time. (I don't have a webcam, but that's because I don't think anybody would want to see me that close up!)

It is great to keep in touch. Our high school class started to meet every 10 years,
then at 50, every 5 years and now that we are all over 60, every year.
Although I live a continent away and a few others in different countries, we always do our utmost to come.
It is always a great fun, like in High School.

Congrat's Silly, it must be great to connect with someone like that from your past!!

It was Lisa. I always used to say this guy was like my brother...I used to tease him and tell him my parents must have adopted him on the sly. We were that close.

Wonderful story, sillyfeet. I had something similar happen through Classmates. Some one got in touch with me and wondered if I would like to communicate with my "first love" from high school. Could not believe the butterflies that went through my stomach. We ended up emailing, talking on the phone and he even wanted to fly me to his town for New Year's Eve but I had put on some weight and he was a personal trainer and I didn't think I could handle the disappointment in his eyes so I declined. (He was stilling picturing me as a 16-yr old in a bikini-ha!) He had moved away in his senior year and we had lost touch. Sadly, we reconnected but it wasn't meant to be. I could never leave my kids and grandkids and he would never come back to my state so it pretty much ended but we had some hot conversations (lol).

been on facebook too confussing for me,i signed up.but everytime i try to send meassages.says .does not reconise.so i gave up.
