Cesse's Sodden Saturday 08/08/09

... It was raining when I got up and is still raining two hours later and doesn't look to be quitting any time soon. No wonder I slept so well... there's something soothing about listening to the rain.
... Went to the mall for my walk this morning, haven't done that in quite a while. It wasn't bad except that I kept getting distracted by other walkers so had to turn my book off. Decided to stop at Target for a couple of things before I came home ... you do know Target can be dangerous right? dangerous to your wallet!!
... Cats are such creatures of habit. Their hard food is available 24 hrs a day in a feeder. On each side is a plate where I give them their morning soft food. Little Girl sits sweetly and daintily eats her portion. Tank starts out in the same place but as he eats his dish "travels" across the floor ... never know quite where it will stop. Normally I bring his dish back beside the feeder for his morning treat. This morning I put the food on the dish where it ended up yesterday. I then spent a hilarious 10-15 minutes watching him move his dish back to the necessary starting point before he would take his first bite!!
... Well rain means I don't have to mow today... Yippee!! So, guess I'll play on the computer, work on my craft project, read a little ... all fun stuff. Prayers going out to all on my prayer list. Hope everyone has a super Saturday!!

DS and fiancee are here from CA for a few days, and having a great time frolicking in the ocean! They got to see a turtle laying her eggs, and now we are going for an airboat ride!!!!!

Memaw, hope you get your digital frame going, I love ours!!!!

Good afternoon ladies!!! I was up early today--figures, since I could sleep! Lots of thunderstorms rolled through earlier, but the sun is out now and it is miserable out--in the 90's with dewpoints above 70 degrees--YUCK! I'm having some friends over for dinner and games tonight, so I made my dessert early and it is ready to go. Will have to go and make the scalloped potatoes in a minute. Will have those with a italian marinated pork tenderloin and fresh veggies on the grill. Hopefully we can get out on the patio later this evening--we'll see. Planning on playing some cards/games so it should be fun.

Catching up on alot of loose ends in between--cards, cd burning, mail, etc. Hopefully, I'll have all the odds and ends done before tomorrow so I can maybe play some games! It is supposed to be almost 100 tomorrow, so a good day to be inside and play!

Cesse--hope you have a nice Saturday inside. The mowing can wait. Tank is just too funny--but he is a creature of habit! Target is VERY dangerous--always something catches my eye. And with a super Target--always some food I need-lol!!!

Mummy--glad you have great weather! Enjoy the day and have fun!

Memaw7--those digital frames are great. Got DH one for father's day a few years back. Really easy--just pop the card in if I remember right. Though if you only want certain photos you have to do a little more work.

LisaB--glad to hear the visit is going so well. An airboat ride sounds like great fun! How long are they staying--enjoy every minute!!!

Good Afternoon Lilorange, have been working on scrapbooking projects since I can't do anything outside; trying some new techniques, a couple of bombs but most have turned out really well. Sounds like you're getting a lot done and have an enjoyable evening planned. Loved scalloped potatoes!!

afternoon all - sounds like great plans for all your weekends - I am not digging on the rain - hubby has a furlough day/night today and we had planned to go down to a street market, then try a new rest. for dinner in Rochester Hills - the rain is throwing the whole walking around thing off. Side plan we will go and walk around a gourmet supermarket, lol.
Then home, maybe a movie (although I really wanted to see Julie and Julia, the furlough days are cutting into ent. budget) packing up to go to the cabin tomorrow for a couple of days (please get warm) and off to bed (around 3 am hopefully going to bed a little early so we can get up early)
until then world mosaic, and I am trying to decide if I really really want the toolbar game today.

Hey cesse--got all the food prepared, so time for me to get lilorange ready and hop in the shower!!! I'll e you the potato receipe if you like. A friend brought it over for a picnic around the fourth and it was just great--and really easy too!!!

Cptduzer--sorry about the rain, but the alternative will work--just don't bring too much home!!! Have a nice trip tomorrow. I did get the toolbar game--had it on my maybe list so thought I might as well get it now.

Hi everyone - gray day in Seattle, but warm. I wish it would rain so the plants get some relief. It's been so dry here that the leaves are falling and it looks like fall in our back yard.

Spent the morning with my friend Rosemary at Costco - she had to buy food for a 40 people picnic tomorrow. We got some great stuff and good deals. Of course I spent a fortune on stuff I wasn't even thinking about buying...

Our Lela is starting to be herself again - it's so nice to see her like that, we were a little worried.

Cesse, the story with the cat dish is funny. You should tape that sometimes.

Lisa - how nice to have your boy and his woman with you, hope you all have a great time.

Lil - your dinner sounds good, can I come? What kind of games do you play?

Just got back from driving a neighbor and her husband to the doctor's.

Cesse, you said rain? What's that??? Actually, we may have some this evening. I asked my neighbor when the last time it rained was, and she couldn't remember, either. It's cool - only in the 60s, but hasn't rained in, I think, months.

Finally - a toolbar game I don't have that I have an interest in. I don't know much about it, but a hidden object for $2.99 is worth trying.

I loved the story about Tank, Cesse. I can just see her pushing that bowl across the floor. Too funny!

LilO - e me the potato recipe too, if you don't mind. always looking for good, easy potato recipes.

Lisa - have fun with your family. Let us know if you see more turtles.

Memaw - I went to the dentist the other day and the hygienist had a digital picture frame where I could see it. It was distracting in a good way. (Got a good report from the dentist, by the way.)

Rent--soooooo glad to hear Lela is back to, well, Lela. It sure is tough seeing the furkids feeling off. It's really dry here--gonna be watering and sprinkling this weekend quite I bit. I know what you mean about Costco--that's why I wasn't a member. But what do you know, after Seattle, I decided to join. Of course you can come for dinner. There are only 4 of us and probably enough food for at least 8--I just can't cook "small"!!! We play different types of games--usually card/dice games and if we have the right mix some board games. You would have a great time!!! And yes, some we do play for $$$$$.

Nanty--glad to hear the dental appointment went well! I'll take your cool day over this hot stuff--I have to admit I loved the weather in Seattle. The recipe will be on it's way to you shortly. It is easy and fast--gotta love anything that saves time!!!

Lilorange, had a 2+ hour phone conversation with DD tonight. We're meeting next weekend for breakfast. Told her about your recipe ... she begged me to make it and bring her some. That makes it great because I can make a full recipe but not have to eat it all myself!! Hope you've had a great evening with your company.
