I'm wondering if anyone else is having the problem of "flickering sound". When the dialog is spoken, it sounds like a cell phone that's out of area...only about every other syllable is heard. VERY annoying. I've erased it from my computer but might download it again if I can figure out how to get rid of this problem. I'm asking b/c if it's just ME, then it may be my server.

I would not call the sound on my computer "flickering" but just the occasional slur of two or three words. I can just make out what is being said and that sometimes requires a bit of guessing, but it has not detracted from the game for me, as I said. Maybe there is a problem with your monitor because no one else has even mentioned any problems. I hope you get it solved as the story is an integral part of this game, unlike many where the story could matter less!

Just finished the game...thought it was a great new concept, and very well-acted (and this is from someone who usually loathes cut-scenes, and skips them whenever possible). These were very well done, and as a Boston native, I particularly appreciated that the character of Jess's stepfather was clearly acted by another Boston native (or a GREAT actor). Boston accents are very hard to fake effectively.
That aside, I agree with those who were complaining about the variability of the sound quality and the graininess of the graphics. Although it was possible to play the game disregarding both of these, the experience would certainly have been much better if these had been corrected. However, the overall ingenuity of the game concept and the attention to the storyline, which is usually an afterthought at best, more than make up for the game's "faults of execution". I definitely look forward to the implied sequel: when it comes to game conception, these people clearly know what they are doing.

Also was wondering if the designers graphic card was so much better than ours and thats why the screen is grainy?
Yep, the resolution and monitor size are both going to determine how big the active area of the winbdow is going to be. Sounds like 1024x786 is the default, which is what most folks run at.
Nope, while the developer may well have a better video card, that is not why it looks the way it does. The graininess of the graphics and windowed aspect I am quite sure were done to reduce the file size of the game download. Animated cut scenes, especially with sound, are HUGE file size wise and there's tons of 'em in this game. If it had been crystal clear graphics and full screen it would have been the size of a large file adventure and a big one at that. I would love to see a that, personally, as a "Collectors Edition" or something, but imo the game play is good enough to put up with what I bet was a marketing decision to reduce size.

I just started this game and it fills my whole screen, I don't notice any problem with the resolution. I just have one question. Is the whole game just going from room to room and matching words?

There are min-games as well, but yes, primarily that is the game mechanic.

The game runs perfectly for me; I recently updated both my video and my sound card drivers, so it's always a good idea to make sure you have done that if you are having problems with running this or any other game.
I just finished the first chapter on the "easy" level of difficulty; along with liking the game very much, I see a lot of replay value here, as I will eventually go through this game on the "challenge" and gamer" levels as well.
I skipped one puzzle in the first chapter already, as I couldn't figure out how to solve it other than by a trial and error approach--although I'm pretty sure that I was just missing the logic--it was the puzzle where you have to rotate puzzle pieces/signs of the zodiac and put them in their proper places. Spoilers welcome.
