Mystery Case Files®: Dire Grove™ Collector's Edition comments and reviews

I've been playing most of the day and am not nearly finished. I can't find phone number or axe so far and no tips there yet. But what I really wanted to add was that I wonder if I am the only one who, when looking out the window, was shocked not to see snow?

Took my wife and I a little less than 4 hours and not disappointed in the LEAST! Didn't get all the achievements and didn't even come CLOSE to all the morphing objects (only got 15-20 of the 50, hence finishing in less than 4 hours - would've taken MUCH longer otherwise!!!)

Now I have to go through it again to find all those objects, complete all the objectives, and dial the secret phone # at the end of the credits...

Also - does anyone know what the snowshoes are for...it was the 1 item I had left at the end I didn't use...arrgh...must've missed something...

Hmm ok where are the felixs LOL I dont want to know the exact location, but are they in a hidden object scene or during gameplay? or do you have to get them the 2nd way through?

Well get your 'thermals' on and dive in. Loving this game. Not sure how people do this in four hours, they must miss heaps of stuff. I am just cruising and poking about, reveling in the beautiful graphics. PS 'thermals' are winter underwear.

You need to contact Customer Service so they can help you with the game. Have you read the thread about Technical Difficulties and done what was suggested there?

Where did you find a video tour? After the credits ran, the screen with the credit puzzle came up but nowhere to enter a number ... just took me back to the main menu. And, if I go back into the game, I'm back at the very first screen with no progress. I'll be playing a second time this weekend ... and don't want to miss the video a second time. Thanks!!

I checked out the walkthrough on Gamezebo. It is no Return to Ravenhurst, that's for sure. It is also very short. I will wait for the 1 hour demo, before I decide to buy.

Sigh. Total bliss.

Suzy, yes, contact CS. As for not being able to use Game Club credits for the CE, take a look at the Frequently Asked Questions thread in this forum. Answers a bunch of your concerns.

Because of this being a special collector's edition with additional material and gameplay, BF isn't accepting game credits or coupons for this edition. The regular version will be out sometime around the beginning of December according to Picman. As for getting it to run, just contact CS, and I'm sure they'll help you get it going.

P.S. for even more fun, play for awhile in snarky mode, then switch to the motivational mode. It's so funny. (Go into main menu, choose options. You can switch modes during game play.)

Wow! So glad that I purchased the CE. I just downloaded a few hours ago and am taking my time, the visuals are magnificant and it is a pleasure to take the time. I will work on speed later. Someone earlier mentioned feeling the cold. I recently moved from the snowbelt and was anticipating a warm winter. How lovely to see the snow and really FEEL the cold. Wonderful! Just getting started, so can't comment beyond my initial impression. The Hidden Object Scenes are not that difficult, but beautiful. Big MCF fan so I did not mind the cost as I have been anticipating for a while. So excited! Definately a game that can be enjoyed over and over.

If there was an Oscar handed out for casual computer games, (and there likely will be one day in the future with this kind of quality) the MCF production team would win hands down. You are in a class of your own. Thank you.

I too bought the Collector's Edition and have no bonus features. Is there a special "place" to find them? Has anyone else had this problem? How about it Big Fish - where can I find them?????

Bought the game played loved it now going to start all over again trying to not use the stategy guide and not skip the games LOL

Mostly I can speculate:

- Walkthrough: approach from main menu, in there you find the wallpapers, videos and stuff
- Achievements: pop up during the game (did so for changing objects), for overview click on rear view mirror on main menu
- Bonus Levels: open when you find the two fish (???)
