Murder, scandal and your first big break! You`re a young, aspiring reporter, hungry for your first big scoop in the male-dominated world of 1920’s journalism in this epic Hidden Object Adventure game. Not settling for your role as secretary, you soon stumble upon a high-profile murder, a scandalous cover up, and the framing of an innocent man in Valerie Porter and the Scarlet Scandal. Do you have what it takes to crack the story and finally be recognized as a top investigative reporter?

Great review as usual Gogii told me about this game a year ago and said it was in the works. I loved the other one so much and was waiting. That part about holding down the mouse does sound like a pain. The other parts you mentioned about the game sound great. I will give it a try anyways, and just do mouse finger exercises for that holding down the mouse part. Thanks Squirrely! God bless

Sassy

You don't have to hold down the mouse if you don't like that part - you only have to do the chaining that way if you want more points. You can just click as normal on the objects as you find them

I found the "item link-up" GREAT FUN..and it stops you from having to click all the individual items, I wonder just how long this game actually is, if it is a reasonable size, I will be getting this with my credit from buying 6 games in OctoberFest!!! ENJOY people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed this game. There are 12 Chapters total and I got through Chapter 6 after my hour was up. There are 100 bells in the whole game that you need to find and I got 60 of them (5 per room- sometimes if you go back to the same room you need to find the 5 again), so I think it is a fairly good length of gameplay. This is playing without the dialog (hitting skip any chance I got.) I did play most of the mini games. Sometimes you do have to pay attention to the story such as for some of the mini game word searches so I had to skip because I didn't know certain names to search for.

Enjoyed the different clues to find instead of the usual object list. Also, I enjoyed the mini game where you figure out which word goes where in your article.

It is a bit of a challenge to link objects to create a chain, but if you don't want to do it, you don't have to! It's just for an extra gameplay element if you want it.

Debating whether to buy or not, but it was an entertaining hour that went by fast!

I had a lot of FUN with this Valerie Porter!
Here are some of the things I like:
I like the suspense in the story.
There are many things to find in the a scene - batteries, bells, hidden object things and clues that leads to the story along.
I thought the voice acting is really good and music is very good. I will buy them if they are on iTunes.
The hint to find objects are clever, made me feel smart so I love them!
Connecting objects together are fun, when I spot them. Can't spot them all the time but I could still click on them one at a time.
Love the mini-game where I assemble the headlines.

I skipped the story writing.

Overall,

Hi everyone!! I like this game! I like the way some of the objects to find are listed. Like A foot warmer..which is a sock. It makes the game more fun iMO. The graphics are really nice. Very colorful. The voices are very distinct. Some of the items are not all that obvious which is nice because you have to look a little bit harder for them. In the items that have more than one, if you want to link them, you have to do it fast or you lose the linkage. The dialogue is just isn't too much at one time. The mini games are easy

I think I will get this game as my first purchase towards the Novemberfest promotion.

Have a great Tuesday everyone.

I think I am going to enjoy this game after 30 minutes of the demo. Had to stop and clean up my own room mess LOL. I liked the features and tasks mentioned above. Fun gathering up all her clothes, then doing her makeup from inventory.

It's nice to find items that the characte needs to go on with her mission, rather than the usuall picking up someone else's trash flung in piles. Kinda feels more like being involved in the story. Except of course male boss wanting her to tidy up his, but items like breakfast tie in with the next minipuzzle. Continuity there screen to screen.

Will finish the demo and put on "probably" list. Don't want t buy too fast like I did last month before seeing what other new offering to follow for my Novest.
Going back then to ty to finish some of all these Oct games waiting.
My speed, easy, relaxing, fresh.

Didn't play for long, but I like this game. I found chaining the objects was quite easy if you find the first one then keep your finger on the mouse button and quickly scribble over the screen - you can pick up lots of them in a random sort of way.

On my maybe list as well.

Forgot to add that it downloaded quite smoothly on Vista laptop, no errors and no glitches so far on the demo. Loaded fine on XP desktop now. That feels almost like bonus when things work normally afte so many buggy games recently. I don't remember how many games I didn't buy that I may have liked in Sept-Oct after seeing how much troubleshooting others were going through, not worth the time or trouble.

Looks fine on my 15" monitors too for those other squinters like me.

one more thumbs up for ease of DL and visibility, that makes 5.

I have just started so I am not so far along. This seems to be an average HOG with a few additional things thrown in. I always enjoy having special items to look for i.e. the batteries and bells. You also get to find an inventory item to use.

I do not like the object linking either. It seems contrived as if the Devs said, "We have to do something different to sell this..." I don't think the linking thing adds to the gameplay and may make some players like me a little put off. I think maybe you can find these items without linking but, if not, that is a game killer for me. Even in a bigger game like HE or MCF I would find this linking business a stopper if it is required. This game is no HE or MCF. It is a nice mystery HOG that I think many will enjoy, I am still at the beginning and am on the fence with regards to it.

From the demo it seems like a pretty neat game. My only hesitation is the length. Based on my Demo time it seems like it could be pretty short.
