Lifeline

[Post New]by bfgFlounder on Mar 17, 17 12:29 AM
Lifeline is a gripping interactive story of survival against all odds. In the aftermath of a crash landing on an alien moon Taylor is stranded, the rest of the crew are dead or missing, and Taylor’s communicator can only reach YOU.

Help Taylor make life or death decisions, and face the consequences together. Or see what happens when you make a different choice. Simple actions can have a profound effect.

Lifeline is a deep, immersive story that plays out in real time with many possible outcomes. Taylor is relying on YOU.

I've sent Taylor to explore the possible crash sites. It would seem I have to guess how much real time it will take for him to walk there,

My question is - Do you have to close the game and check every hour or so to see how far he's progressed?

Took about an hour to get there for me. If you have not bought it then yes, log out to stop the demo timer would be my suggestion. I went ahead and bought it

Hello Everyone and Happy St. Patrick's Day to all who are celebrating

So, this is in 'real time'. I'm guessing I have to wait an hour since that what it takes our new friend to get to the crash site?? Kind of forces you to get the game if you want to find out what's happening. And if your new friend, Taylor, is going to stay [Removed by Moderator].

I think I'll wait for more reviews before I decide.

For those who are continuing this intriguing adventure ....

ENJOY!

I love this game. It reminds me of the old Text Adventure games. Loved them too. Definitely a buy for me.

I have just thought of something: what if you want to restart the game? I see nowhere to add a profile name nor a place where I can start again from the beginning. I can also find no save file which, when deleted, gives me the option to start a new game.

Edited to add: Ah... I just investigated a little more and found where the save file is. It's in the BigFishGames folder.

This is a 2016 iPhone game that's re-released today on PC for $2.99, like its some sort of deal. When in actuality, PC users are paying $1.00 more for the exact same game.

Look in the iPad/iPhone Games tab above for yourself....

I'll wait & get this at another site if/when the price drops to $1.99 or less.

To those that don't mind this "PC tax", enjoy!

Well, I've exited out of the demo, took a long nap, then walked the dog, watched a bit of the St. Patrick's Day parade on tv, argued with my DD, checked my emails, read the reviews and re-opened the demo. Only halfway to crash site.

Unfortunately, I can't open another game while waiting for Taylor to catch up with my boredom.

I'd love to play this game out but ..... yawn .... I buy games to play not sit and wait ... and wait ..... and wait. I can do this in RL .... for free.

ENJOY!

I have sent Taylor now off to sleep. He took about an hour to get to the ship, and after that he only spent a minute here and there to look for things.

This guy is already growing on me. It feels like he is a real guy in the "other world". He needs my help, he asks for my advice, he depends on me. Love it.

I don't know about this game being first on the iPhone, and I don't care. I am very happy with today's PC price.

I hope we get to see more of the same in the future. I am so tired of HOGs.

so, he just went to sleep. I'm supposed to sit here waiting for him to get up? If I close the game, does it keep running in real time, like Plant Tycoon? If so, I'd buy it, if not, I'll do something constructive.

Skippystwin... I checked on my guy about 20 minutes after he has gone to sleep, and he woke up again. Won't say more so as not to spoil it, but it seems he doesn't necessarily will stay offline for say 8 hours or so, but come on again after a short time.

And if you go offline, although this game is supposed to be real time, I am sure he won't go anywhere until you come back to him.

For those gamers who are impatient and don't want to wait until Tyler comes back on, there is a "turn fast mode on" button you can use. Just click on the thingy at the bottom of the screen to access the options.

Also, if something goes wrong at some point, you can "rewind the story" to an earlier point.

Hi Valdy, good to see you (in real time. Ha) In my options, I don't have one for fast mode. I have music, sound, full screen, language, credits, privacy policy, twitter, facebook, 3 min. games and exit. Where are you finding this fast mode button?

Hi Girlwonder...

I am assuming you play the PC version. At the bottom of the screen is a half circle. Click on it and the options come up. That's where I find "Turn Fast Mode On". This option has a rabbit next to it.

Now, I died shortly into the game, and when I restarted it, that's when this mode came up. It wasn't there before. Neither was the "Rewind Story" button, which is now available. I think you only get the Fast Mode button once you restart the game, because it is designed for you to move forward through the things you have already played before you got into trouble and had to start again.

So, Valdy, I assume I must delete and reload the game in order to start over? There are no profiles to change. Right now I have sent him out to sleep by the reactor and not sure if he will die. Maybe I will hang around and see before starting over. Thanks for your help.

No, you don't restart the game on your own. IF you die, you are being asked from where you want to restart the game. I was not far in (sent him to sleep in the wrong place), so I was sent back to the beginning.

I'd be interested to know, from someone who is far into the game, or finished it, how much 'dead' time there is where you can do nothing .... as opposed to how much time Taylor keeps you busy.

I am not all that far, walking towards the strange formation is all. It is almost all dead time. This seems a game of texts and a lot of time thinking and imagining while you do other things. It keeps on while you play other games, work or surf. I am enjoying checking back in from time to time to see if he sent another report in or not yet. Not unlike an interactive book. I am trying to see how to play the other three in the series without a phone for it .
