Gift lists and sporadic playing

[Post New]by fabulaparva on Mar 18, 17 10:42 AM
Hello! It's been a long while since I've posted anything or even logged into the forums. I've continued playing the game on/off mostly during weekends, until the beginning of this February when I completely run out of time and energy to log in even on weekends (new job) and realized month and half later that -yowza! it's really been a month and a half since I logged in!

Anyways, I've turned into a very, very sporadic player. I wanted to know how y'all feel about on/off playing and gift lists? Take it down for longer periods of time? -- Some might need the thank you cards though -- Leave it with only simple items up there and deal with the backlog with snail's pace? Any preferences, any other occasional weekend/sporadic players out here?

~Fabula

Last but not least: My warmest thanks to all my very generous and patient past and present friends! I'm not looking to quit completely, I still enjoy the game, but I am unfortunately off more than I am on. Feel free to delete me, though, if you rather keep just active players on your list.

I think as long as you state in your name that you're playing on & off, it's fine.
I have a friend whose name says "Away off-on", so I know she'll be in & out & I just wait for her icon to turn green again before I send a gift.

Personally, I'd take down my wishlist if I was going to be away a while. I get behind returning gifts even when I'm sending 15/day.

I know some of the Trina-junkies are clamoring for more thank you cards & take offense at people taking down their wishlist, but that's so easily remedied - all they need to do is add another friend or 2. After all, you can only send 15 gifts per day.

Thank you for the reply, Desertdruid! I think tagging the name is probably the way to go for me, I've been keeping some references up there that I play mostly on weekends, but changed it now to indicate that I'm "permanently" sporadic/on/off. I wish I could send all the 15 gifts in one sitting instead of the 5 per each 8 hours, but that's neither here or there.

Good point on the icon!

I am currently playing on and off, too. I added "LtdReturn" after my name so my friends would know. It's a great way to get the message out to folks who don't visit the forum.

I also posted that I am only popping in to the castle to give out gifts and play the occasional HOS / Puzzle / DQ. I also let folks know to please feel free to skip me when passing out gifts as I can only do about 5 per day. I would rather they reciprocate with their more regular gift givers. If I am not going to be able to visit the castle for an extended period of time, I take my wish list down.

This seems to be working out fine. Speaking from experience, your friends and other players will totally understand.

Thank you for the response and sharing your on/off gaming experience, Shawkn! Good to hear that you've found a way to make gifting and on/off playing work, so that it doesn't have to be either all in or all out.

Thanks for posting. I'd wondered what happened to you. I'll keep you around. If you're on and send a gift, I'll return one, if your wish list is up. Otherwise, I'd prefer to skip you and send to people who are playing more regularly. (Game name: Liza Rose)

It would be lovely when they do the Spring event if you put your Spring room up, though, so your friends can do the HOS in it.

Have fun stormin' the castle!

Hi Rose! & Thank you for your reply. Yes, please feel free to skip me when gifting. My Spring room is up and open for all kinds of visits.

Hey Fab! Just saw this thread.........I know you are on and off........no worries......play when you can.......I gift you when you are up on my list to gift.

Lots (if not most) of my friends are sporadic.......no biggie.

Hi Susie & Thank you much for stopping by and sticking by with my on/off-ishness! I wonder if Elephant/BigFish Games have any data on the general patterns of their player activity-levels...but if they did it would easily feel like being in BigBrother.

Gsdogs, because I'm in the game so little I can't unfortunately add you now. However, There's a post with links to threads with friendcodes for each platform in the Helpful Links for Midnight Castle thread (posted among the pinned/locked threads in the beginning of this forum) =>

Click your platform, eg PC Friend Codes =>

and try the last couple of pages for most recent posts/codes.
