Eggs on wishlists

[Post New]by Hilltop83 on Aug 8, 17 8:16 PM
I'm a bit frustrated. It seems that several of the people on my friends lists have decided that all they wish for are eggs. They leave no other options for gift giving. I have given an egg or two, but it seems a bit greedy to only be asking for eggs, since they are so valuable. And it doesn't really give others a chance to reciprocate for gifts they have given, especially when they give only pet food or an airship item even when others are wished for. This seems very much to be becoming a trend on my friends lists.

Curious as to everyone's thoughts.

Usually when an egg is on a wish list, that person is transferring an egg from one feeder game to another.

Could be they are feeding their other games, or just "wishing" someone will send them.
I don't know. I know I have a few on my PC game that I can't send and definitely can't send eggs on my iOS.
I understand it is unfair when you want to send something but can't.

Could be they don't have anything that is on your list? Or all that is on your list is airship and stamps? If you have zz items, most people don't have a big supply of them. Or the hard to get items.

I have one friend that has had 3 eggs worth 5,000 coins each on her wish list for quite some time now, months actually. I just figured that they were there for Just John to gift her. I doubt that many other people are gifting them. It would be a guaranteed egg gift from John.

I agree with annelegram (sp), but I find it frustrating that I cannot gift them. However, they also never gift and they only request eggs unless they need things for a challenge.

Your choice! To gift or not to gift!
I agree with A.e.gram and there are now more opportunities using the Puzzles to get the eggs.

If friends don't gift, then I don't either.
I'm, honestly, fairly new to this gifting thing. I have gotten many friends through the special events and they have helped.
But, I simply can't give away inventory when I only have one or two of the items.
If people have high items on their lists and I have never gotten anything from them, well.. Unfortunately, there are people that just try to get what they can..
I can thank the forum for teaching me the ways of gifting.

I had only egg on my feeder game, and John never gifted one. He did, however, gift me Mechanical Heart instead each time he gifted.

I once put an egg on my wishlist in the hopes it would make the game or John give it to me.. and imidiatly I got it from a friend.. uhhh I felt greedy.. did NOT like that.
I gifted that friend anything for a long period of time.. I never put an egg up again.

I think I did ask for the price of one and made a deal with a friend.. but thats a better way.. for me anyway.

I have friends also with eggs and expesive crafted items.. nope won't do it. Have 134 friends and can always find some that want what I will give.

Today I spent my last two torches doing a DQ and went to gift friends.. wupty I found 5 friends I could buy the torch for

interesting post ...

I am fairly new to the game, but I have thought of the wish list as just that, I do occasionally put an egg there but would never expect anyone to gift me one unless they wanted too. if they do happen to gift me an egg, I definitely keep giving gifts to them and try very hard to give them the largest things they ask for on their list.

guess I should stop listing them on y list so as I do not appear greedy

I believe some players don't mind giving away their eggs... but just can't expect everybody to want to.

I have said it befor and I have said I would say again... and again.

Gift what you want to gift and put on your list what you want.. but don't make gifting stressfull by feeling you have to gift who gifts you... just gift those with a list that matches you gifting.

I love to gift the items needed for ancesters spirit.. but only if I can buy them. If I have them all I will craft myself and go buy for gifts.

There are 1000 of ways to do gifting.. but no reason to make it a problem.

Gifting has always been challenging, but I've learned thru this forum many ideas on expectations. To me, if someone has only eggs or zz items and are at a high level, I assume they are getting them from their feeder games so I don't gift if I don't have it (I never buy an item, I'm not in the millionaire club, not even close!). For those levels under 30, I give a zz item if I have it, because I need something to do while waiting on update and will get more doing DQs. That said, I would like for those friends to keep one spot open for stamp, airship item or pet food because I feel bad when they give me gifts and I can't return the favor.

several of my friends have eggs up for Just John... and they have received eggs from J.J. ... I tried it a couple of times, John didn't gift me but friends did (even when I asked them politely NOT to), so I stopped trying....

I think if you are transferring eggs from one game to the next, have only one or two on your wish list, then two or three more reasonable items on your list. If you are really interested in have item gifted to you. I feel guilty putting an egg on my list, even for JJ to give me one. Also have not put crafted item on my list, feel greedy, that is just me!!

Also change your list up do not leave the same items on it for weeks.

I have gifted eggs to lower level players but not the highest level players.

I can understand having 1 egg on your wishlist if you're sending them to yourself or have an arrangement with someone, but 3 or 4? All the time? You can only give yourself 1 gift per day.
And if you're sending yourself an egg, wouldn't you immediately take it back off your wishlist as soon as you send it? If you really don't expect your friends to send them, too?

No, sorry, I'm afraid 4 eggs for days is an indicator of a greedy (or lazy) person wanting others to provide them with loads of coins so they don't have to do the work. Same for uber-expensive crafted items.

And as far as the puzzles being a source of eggs, I haven't gotten 1 since they changed the rules.

And John has never given me anything more valuable than a Forged Key, & nothing at all in months. I would never expect an egg from him.

There is so many ways to do this, and you can only do it your way .. just don't expect your friends to have the same plan.

EXEPT.. is you set up a stamp swap or other swaps to get achievements.. you really are ment to send the stamp.. or whatever item you are swaping... back.

Airship items: some find that is a cheep gift, but if you are top level, the ships take a lot of items.. and many highlevel players may not want to gift them.. exept if they don't do DQ's.. then they don't need them.

White stamps: they are very much a wanted and much needed item on lower levels.. and not so much on high levels (as far as I know..don't notice any use). I have no upinion on the other stamps.. may use them for crafting.. but toplevelers don't have to craft that much. Some highlevel players see the stamp as a small gift easy for lower level players to gift.. but they maybe forget how much players need them.

ZZ items: some gift if they have them, some like to buy them.. because if you buy a 30 item you can get that.. and 20 more .. back from just doing one HOS.

There is also the items you get from ZZ's .. I see those as crafted items.. cheeper.. but still.

Eggs and crafted items: well you may not get as many gifts, but if you do, you have friends who like to gift those things.. don't expect to get an egg for a white stamp, just because you play by list and feel your friends should do the same.

Could by funny to see how you all feel about the different hings to gift and wish.

I have changed my way of gifing many times.. acording to were I am in the game.. but I try not to put anything up I would not gift myself.

I always have an egg or two on my two games.........either someone has PM'd and said "have 6 penguin eggs for the Consortium" .......or I just put one up that I am low on to gift lower level players for the Consortium.........I don't need the eggs on either game.......just store them for gifting later.

DO NOT feel you have to gift an egg........eggs are precious.........but I have lots of high level friends who gift me eggs IF they have extra.........I do not expect it......but I have lots of generous friends. (You all know who you are.........THANKS)!!!!

Glad to hear all of the differing opinions. I try very hard to return the favor of a gift. I also try to give reasonable options for anyone to gift me. I try to keep one airship item, one pet food, a ticket and an item I might need for a DQ or a challenge. I don't mind giving an egg or two to someone who has been a good friend. But 4 eggs that never change is crazy. Then I feel guilty if these folks gift me on a regular basis and I can't reciprocate. I guess some folks just don't consider the position they create for others.

Considering that the vast majority of my friends have the same items on their wish list (airship items, pet food, in-demand HOS items, and stamps) and I am not doing the rounds anymore, I would be happy to gift something different like eggs, ZZ items, and crafted items.

My thoughts on wish lists in general:
I do not think there is anything wrong with putting something you really want on your wish list. It doesn't matter if it is stamps, pet food, airship items, HOS items, ZZ items, crafted items, or eggs. Sometimes what you want at the moment and what your friends are willing to gift are not the same, but that is okay.

I have 2 zz items on my wish list, and I am ever so thankful to my friends who gift them. They cost less than 200 coin to gift, and at max level, that is a very small amount. I have a few friends who gift them, and who also have a zz item on their list. Since we are all max level, we are doing it for the shard achievement. I personally wish I had more friends who put zz items on their wish list as it's much easier for me to gift them than anything else. I would love for more friends to swap zz's.

When I was leveling, I had a special, precious friend who gifted daily the Mechanical Heart components to me. A few other friends would also occasionally gift it too. I can't tell you enough how much this meant to me.

We all have various reasons why we put up certain items on our wish list. And although max levels don't need coin, they do have other needs that they are working on, and I'm very happy to help them when I can.
