Puzzle game for newbie

[Post New]by mumma_1 on Aug 9, 17 6:44 AM
Is there a strategy to winning at the puzzle games? I thought I had it sussed as I won everything, then using the same strategy on the next puzzle I lost!

Is it just luck?

If it really was just luck, it would average out to winning half the time. I can tell you my experience is far less than half, more like 10% of the time or less.
Sounds like you had a nice piece of beginner's luck. I hope it continues for you.

It is just luck. My Grandson who is 6 years old seems to be so much luckier than me. He is winning a lot more than me. When he loses, he tells the little boy that he needs to learn to share more LOL. He is far more clued up about computer than I am and not afraid to press keys. Today he tried the "help" to see what happened. It shows you which piece goes where and puts the next piece you need at the top. I am glad that this is a game I can share with him. He can't wait to be back at my house to have another go.

Best Strategy:

If you lose the first time, pick one more time & stop.

If you win, continue picking until you lose, then stop.

It's based on what's known as RNG = Random Number Generator. The Dev's have a choice at what percentage those random hands will be. When puzzles first came out, it seemed to be based on an actual average. After they nerfed it, they lowered the percentage considerably.

I agree with Annelliegram, there should be a prize for picking the wrong hand!

I caught onto that after several tries, first I did continue and lost everything.....

totally agree with the wrong hand choice, even if it was a few more coins or a diamond would be better

Has anyone ever chose an egg and won it? I've tried when there was nothing else I really needed at the time and obviously never won one.......yet

I have a system for what I win IF I win...

I usually only go for items that I need that are in HOs or in Zoom Zones I haven't had the coins to unlock yet. I choose that item (not that often do I have 3 items I need and don't have access to) and the last two items on the last page (it's ALWAYS a sure thing that I'll need them sooner rather than later) OR two items that are hard to come by like an egg and a unique stamp. The game usually displays the coins first, the purple diamond next, then usually the item I need, and lastly the other two items. This way I get the coins (which are guaranteed anyway), if I pick right I get 5 purple diamonds, (sometimes I just play for those ) and keep going hoping to get the item I actually need (which is next in line). If I pick wrong the first time I still have one more try and hopefully get the purple diamond. If I pick wrong the second time I fight the urge to give that little boy my precious purple diamonds in an effort to show him a thing or two, to just again choose his empty little hand. I just stop, collect my coins, start another puzzle and begin the process again. I must admit it does take a mountain of patience and sometimes all 10 puzzles but I most always get the item I need

Just luck. That said, for some reason, I have a lot more luck on PC than I do Android. But I've only unlocked 6 of the 10 on Android. My rounds are small as I leveled up to 13 and stopped to work on DQ's and Trina as I'm not playing as seriously on that as PC so I'm collecting puzzle pieces much more slowly.

That's given me an idea of what to do when I'm waiting for cooldown time. I could try for some diamonds along the way.

I wish I could say that I wipe that smirk off that urchin's face. But I can't!
I win diamonds about half of the time as they have the least value in my wish list, but little else.
I live in hope!

Sooo if you would like to post which hand your going to pick,we could all pick the opposite & win the goodies

Your "friends" could split the bounty with you 50/50 & thereby you win when you lose & get a prize.
