Hurray! I've played through four whole chapters with nary a problem so the game appears to be fixed. I didn't think I could stand to redecorate the sailor's bedroom one more time. Thank you BigFish!
I must say that whoever planned the artwork must have a thing for garden gnomes. They're *everywhere.* LOL.

BFG - just get me the credit.
I'm so mad I don't know if I want another game from BFG!!
Seriously, this situation is not the norm. BigFish is usually the best company there is to deal with. I have more games than I want to admit and have rarely had any problems at all. The couple times I did, the techs were terrific. That's why I don't understand why I haven't had a response to my on line help message I sent a week ago. Perhaps they're inundated with similar messages and are working to fix the game rather than answering everyone individually. I hope so because I don't want a refund or a credit. I want to be able to play the game.

I'm a huge fan of BigFish Games but I'm really frustrated by this one. I've done all the things everyone else has done - checked my ActiveX and driver versions, uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, changed profile several times - and the game is still crashing at the ship's wheel. Last Monday morning, before I knew this was a general problem and not just mine, I submitted my information to tech support using the on line feature. There was a message there that said response time would be about 48 hours. Now it's Friday afternoon and I haven't received any response, not even an email confirming that my message was received. BigFish is well-known for excellence in customer service so I'm very disappointed by the lack of response.

Merry Christmas from Central Illinois. I lurk far more often than I write anything but I really appreciate these forums, the great people here and, of course, the one and only and his wonderful support staff. I hope you all have a pleasant holiday whatever you may do.

I really appreciate these forums. I was getting ready to email customer support this morning about my trojan message when I decided to check the forums first and all my questions were answered. Once I knew that the problem was widespread and the BigFish was already on it, I had confidence that it would soon be solved.
Honestly, I am a one-woman marketing team for BigFish here in the Midwest. Tech support and customer service are absolutely the best in the business. Actually, I'm just one little fishy in a big pond but I love, love, love the BigFish.
To laml....? (forgot the screen name and can't get to it now) Your poem is great! Now you need to write a happy ending. Thanks for sharing it with us.

This is the worst mini-game ever. It's a real pain in the neck in an otherwise great game. You have to click and hold the magnifying glass so the light is focused on the smallest area possible. You'll see it as a yellow dot. Then you just have to keep clicking and trying to keep the glass in that same place until the hay starts to burn. It takes quite awhile, too.

I absolutely loved this game. The graphics are marvelous, the extra tasks are fun and clever and the story is coherent. My only complaint is that everything is so small and sometimes almost invisible. Even so, I was able to complete everything, sometimes with hints, without running out of time except for one chapter I had to repeat. I wish game developers would figure out that a large section of their customer base is older people with bifocals.
With regard to the fountain, I had to click inside it a few times to clear the fuzziness and then a window popped up that said the fountain was now clean. I also found that I had to complete finding the items in the list before clicking on the red wheel resulted in more than a small water spout. Even then, I had to turn the wheel several times before the fountain worked properly.

I love Dream Chronicles also but I don't consider it a hidden object game. MCF games are all good. I still enjoy the first one which started the whole craze once in awhile. The new Magic Encyclopedia is a hybrid and one of my all-time favorite games although I haven't figured out what the title has to do with anything. For a series that's strictly hidden object, I like the Big City Adventure games. I like the graphics and the incidental information that makes me want to buy some plane tickets.

I played Show #1 through because I'd paid for it and then I uninstalled it because the "host" was smarmy and the whole thing was so noisy it made me nuts. I like this version much better. On my 5 year old machine, the screens are as bright and clear as can be and the graphics are terrific. It's just a basic HO game so if you're looking for something fascinating like Magic Encyclopedia, give it a pass.

I had no problem installing this and I used the trash can icon on the game manager to uninstall it after playing the demo and I had no trouble with that either. My least favorite game of all time was "Do You See What I See" and this game is similar. I was wishing all my little anemone tentacles were eye stalks because the objects are so small and the "drawers" are so cluttered. The magnifier does work very well but it slows you down. I never did figure out what you have to do to get 5 stars on the pages you design yourself.

I'd recommend getting both. The first one begins the story and is a bit easier IMO so it prepares you for that type of game if you're not already familiar with the style. I love them both but I'd give #2 an edge simply because they got rid of the pop up explanations for every single Dream Jewel which I found very tedious and annoying after the first two or three. I'm already looking forward to Part III.

I've often wondered how much I've spent but, when I look at the loooooong list in my folder, I don't really want to know. I'm of the same mind as many of you however. BF games are bargain. You get hours of fun plus you can keep them forever and play again whenever you choose. Occasionally, I buy a game I'm not crazy about and know I won't play a second time and I uninstall it. I don't have to feel like I've wasted money because I played it once and it cost less (at the game club price) than a movie which would have been over in a couple hours.
I never worry about on line transactions as long as I'm using a reputable site like BFG. To my mind, they're a lot safer than handing a credit card to a waitress who carries it off out of my sight.
I not only have no complaints, I think BFG is the best deal on the Net. The customer service people alone are worth their weight in gold - or maybe solid gold goldfish. In fact, I think BFG deserves a Webby Award. I have no idea how to put that in motion though.

Hello everyone. I'm 64, an RN, and I'm hoping to retire soon so I can spend even more time with HO and adventure games. I'm a huge fan of BFG. They do everything right. I'm from Buffalo but I live in Central Illinois.

I wish I could help with a specific location but I found all the gems a couple days ago and I don't remember. All I can tell you is that I had no trouble finding them and I did find all 50. Did you look for the word "GEM" and also for a line drawing of a gem? Not all of the gems are the colored stones you expect from other games.

I've bought a lot of games from BFG, mostly HO games, but just recently discovered the forums, kind of a hidden object game in of itself. I'd like to see a Forum link on the home page and then some logical organization to the topics. Right now, other game threads are under Madame Fate which certainly isn't intuitive. I hope the new presentation uses something akin to the existing BFG tree: PC Games>Hidden Object Games>name of the game, etc. I'm looking forward to seeing the new format.

Has anyone been able to get all the way through this game? I'm not crazy about it but I bought it so I'd like to finish it. About halfway through there's a room with a flute on the floor. To open the door, you have to find 12 music notes. I can find eleven but the twelfth doesn't seem to exist. I've restarted at least five times and even gone over the screen with a magnifying glass but no luck. And there are no hints available for the door opening logic puzzles so I'm stuck. Has anybody been able to find twelve notes?
