This is one day I enjoy doing the cooking. It's so traditional. Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it (and even to those who don't!).

Good day, Fishies!
Not raining this morning. Kind of pleasant, actually. But no worries - the rain is supposed to be back by late afternoon. No problem - I'm about to start a marathon cooking session, getting as much as possible prepared for tomorrow. When I get a minute I want to get online and find out how many days in a row now we've had rain. It's been most of November. Oh well. If I'm not here tomorrow, I want to say Happy Thanksgiving to all the US fishies out there. Or, as I used to tell my students, happy Giving Thanks day. Somehow, reversing the words made them a little more aware of their meaning. |

Good Morning, Fishies!
Today begins with the promise of no rain! YAY! First day in several weeks. But - there may be a few showers later. Well, we won't count those. I'm off to do the big Thanksgiving grocery shopping. It will be me, DH, DDs, and a few friends or "strays" (those with nowhere else to go). I cook enough for an army anyway, so a few more will only give us more to be thankful for. I got the dining room all ready yesterday (new tablecloth, candles, a few decorations, etc.) so I'm feeling on top of the preparations, for once. Tomorrow I volunteer most of the day, so I'll get everything ready today to start the preparations first thing Wednesday (after checking in here, of course). I am so thankful for all my fishie friends here in the pond! |

Good day, Fishies!
Sounds like I'm not the only one with cold, damp weather. Once it started raining, about 3 weeks ago, I think it's rained every day. I know it's Seattle, but still.... Gonna work on my Christmas projects for my girls this afternoon. I can't work on them when they're here for the holidays, and I have a lot more to do, so I think I'll find a good movie on TV and crochet, crochet, crochet. Have a good day, fishies! |

Good day, fishies!
Sounds like everyone is busy today! I've decided it's time to do some serious cleaning today - all those dust bunnies in the corners are not invited for Thanksgiving, so I'm going to give them a home where they will be happy (in the trash). A little dusting, a little straightening - and then I'll be free tomorrow to play some games. Got most of my Christmas shopping done the last few days (don't buy much anymore). I hate the crowds during the holidays. I have a few online things to purchase, probably tomorrow. Then I should be good! Happy day, everyfish! |

Well, it's "later" but this thread has been awfully quiet today!
I went shopping with DD, then had a delightful lunch. Tonight I need to catch up on some back demos. See y'all tomorrow! |

Good day, fishies!
It's actually not raining right now! We've had a very soggy November, even by Seattle standards. Just a quick hi, because I'm about to leave to pick up DD and go shopping and then to lunch. I love spending time with her, so today should be fun. See y'all later! |

Good morning, fishies!
Cesse, sounds like your headache is better today. That's good news. Another rainy, blustery day in Seattle. I'm heading out this morning to do a little Christmas shopping. I don't have much to do, and I like to get it done before the crowds hit. Then I'll come back and do a little online shopping. Catch you all later! |

Good day, fishies.
Cesse, so sorry to hear about your headache. Not much worse than a bad headache. I hope that when come back here later you can report that all is well. Sunny this morning, but that's likely to change by this afternoon. Yesterday started the same way, but turned to rain later in the day. This cold, damp weather has started to affect my old bones. Yipes! I'm getting old. Oh well. I'm getting ready to drive my neighbor to the doctor's so I'd better sign off. Just wanted to stop in and say hi. I usually miss Tuesdays, so I wanted to stop by today and say hi. HI! Have a good day, fishies! |

Good day, fishies!
Another November day in Seattle - rainy and windy. Oh well. Cesse, I was thinking about you this weekend. I'm glad all went well at the farm. You deserve a day to relax and just do things for yourself. And I can't think of anything better than games! Memaw, I hope you enjoy your time with DGS. Cptdozer- I laughed when I read that you can only throw things out when DH is not around - mine is exactly the same way! Is it a guy thing, or what? Oh, and when you finish your cleaning, you can stop by here.... Teresa, will keep your mom in my prayers. Laundry and cleaning for me today. I'd better get started! Have a great day, fishies! |

You can see it from the top of the Space Needle - it's the one with the big Felix hanging from a flagpole on the roof. And, oh yes, I think there a couple of ring-tailed thelens running around in the yard. |

Hi, my fishie friends!
Cesse, I didn't know if we would hear from you today, as I remembered that you were going to the farm for the funeral. I hope all goes well. My thoughts and prayers are with your family today. Cazzabee, I'll have to go check out your plea post.... Teresa, looking forward to the next issue of the pond monthly. Memaw. I'm glad your storm is just about over. What a mess! How great that the guys are going to help someone in need. Ultimately that's what it's all about, isn't it? Cynthia, I'm happy to hear there was sunshine somewhere. You're in England, aren't you? I try to remember that our morning is your evening, right? Here in Seattle it is overcast and may start raining at any time. Today I'm catching up on all the little things I that I keep putting off - downloading pictures from my last vacation, cleaning up a pile of junk mail, etc. Have a good day, fishies! |

Silly - I know what you mean. The Blue Angels only come to Seattle once a year, but when they do perform their show (and their practices - four days total) some of their routines have them flying right over my house. Yes, the windows rattle and the noise is deafening. But they are awesome.

Good morning, Fishies!
Memaw, thanks for the update. I was hoping to get a report from you. So glad you are safe. It looked awful on the news. My topside Virginia Beach friend said that her neighbor had a tree on his roof, but fortunately she was okay - no loss of power, either. Seattle is back to normal for November - windy and rainy. I'm going to try to hook up my Wii to an old TV in the basement to see if I can do some Wii Fit exercises down there. It's not very pleasant outside to go for a walk. The rain isn't so bad - it's the wind. Right now I'm waiting for the St. Vincent de Paul truck to come and pick up lots of stuff that I cleaned out of my girls' rooms. And I need to work on a Christmas project I've started for each of my girls. The day will be upon us too quickly, and I need to have them done and put away before DD #2 comes home from college for break. Have a good day, all! |

Good morning, Fishies!
Another sunny morning! Be still, my heart! The forecast this morning said not to fear, the storms will be coming back with a vengeance tomorrow. Rain and wind. So, another long walk today before tomorrow's rains. I finally got a copy of Dan Brown's new book The Lost Symbol from the library - well, it's ready for me to pick up, so I'll walk there to get it and have something to read when it gets blustery tomorrow. Memaw, I heard about the storms in your town on the news this morning, and I was wondering how you were doing. I hope DH doesn't get stranded! Warm and sunny, cold and frosty - sounds like we have weather all over the place today. That's November for ya! Have a good day, fishies! |

Good morning, fishies!
Yes, those leaves keep coming down! Woke up this morning to SUNSHINE ! Quite a surprise, since the forecast has been for rain off and on all week. I'm getting ready to take a nice long walk. I don't trust the sunshine to last the whole day.
Cesse, your mom is so lucky to have you taking such good care of her. I hope she appreciates it. She is very blessed to have you. Lilorange, good to see you check in. Get some sleep - it's the best thing to fight off all the nasties out there this time of year! (Ooh - did that bring out the "mom" in me, or what???) Catch y'all later! (Oooh - "catch", fishies" - no pun intended!) |

Good day, Fishies!
Another soggy day in Seattle. Not just soggy, but more wind, rain, and hail. November is usually a strange, transitional weather month for us, and this one is no exception. A friend of mine had her hard drive get blown out yesterday when we had a lightning strike. A good reminder to unplug the computer during lightning (which we rarely get). Sounds like we're having quite a mix of weather all around the country. That's autumn! Cesse, reading about the squirrels is so funny. A little free entertainment - the best kind! Have a good Saturday. all! |

Bummer! So sorry to hear this, Chimene. Fingers and toes (and fins) crossed that you can find something soon.

Good day, fishies!
Cesse, we missed you yesterday! I even checked back in the evening, but you never showed. Glad to hear all is well, and you were just busy. And, if carpal tunnel is acting up again, shouldn't you keep off the computer???? We're back to normal November weather in Seattle. Yesterday was blustery and wet. I was awakened around midnight by a wild storm. It was hailing big hailstones, winds 60 mph, and lightening and thunder. It sounded like something had broken through a window, the noise was so loud. And so it goes, November in Seattle. I just came in from a moving tribute to a fallen police officer. On Halloween night an officer was killed, gunned down has he sat in his patrol car. His partner was wounded. This morning there was a tribute to him - police cars from all over the state and surrounding areas formed a procession that traveled from the University of Washington down to a stadium for a memorial. The procession went right past my house. There were over 1000 police cars, driving slowly down the road, lights flashing. Cars and lights as far as the eye could see. It took 25 minutes for them to pass. It was so sad. I'm off to do an errand, then I want to tackle my basement a little - gotta get the junk cleaned out! Have a good day, fishies! |
