Memaw, glad to see that you have the ambition to start spring cleaning after your busy weekend helping DGS move in. Did that go well? Do they like their new place so far?

I'm off to the dentist shortly, but not before I get my dinner (Italian pork stew) into the crockpot.

Had a fun, busy day today. Since the weather was so springlike, we went for a drive to visit a town north of here- Edmonds WA. Ever hear of Rick Steves? It's the town where his business is based. It's a charming small town right on Puget Sound. We're looking at condos for the future when we will downsize from our house in the city. It was just a delightful day to spend a sunny afternoon. Yes, we found a condo that we loved, but we're not quite ready. But we'll keep the area in mind.

Cesse, good luck on Tuesday with DD and the hospital. We'll know why you are not here, and your absence will remind us to send prayers DD's way.

Memaw, you are such a good grandma. But it's fun work, isn't it? I love new beginnings.

I just came back from making a quick run up to DD's campus apartment. She's SO busy with schoolwork right now. I know she's swamped because she called me last night with a desperate plea to BRING FOOD! Of course I was happy to comply. She wants to be independent, so I know that when she asks, she really needs me. Makes me feel good to help.

Going to a 50th birthday party tonight for a friend. Looking forward to that.

Boy, I'm getting tired of all this talk of snow! So I can imagine how tired you all must be of getting all the snow! Yipes! It's already spring here in Seattle. Come on over. You're all welcome.

Gonna try to finish a couple of organization projects today, that I've started before but never completed. I know I'll be so happy when they're done that I'll treat myself to a new game.

Cesse, sounds like Mom's hand surgery went okay. That's good to hear. You are so good to her. She's very lucky.

I had Physical Therapy first thing this morning on my frozen shoulder, and while out I got my glasses adjusted. Well, got home, making lunch, and the glasses were killing my nose - adjustment had gone from bad to worse. So I had to go back out and wait again for them to be readjusted. What a waste of time - I could have been playing games! I haven't been playing much either - those darn Olympics tend to get in the way.

Dh just went back to his mancave for a few days, so for me it will be leftovers and Olympics and some game playing for the rest of the day.

Did my volunteering today. Last evening we went to an incredible dinner (fundraiser for Haiti): appetizers (petit Monte Cristo sandwiches), salad - with a baby octopus on top!, fish course (petrale sole with salmon mousse), poultry course (guinea fowl), beef course (filet mignon), and poached pears for dessert. And wines matched to each course. I'm still a little full!

Tonight - just the Olympics.

We had a wonderful dinner last night at our favorite local restaurant. And we found out that next Monday they will be having a fundraiser for Haiti - a winetasting, 4 course meal. Should be fun, and for a good cause, so I think we'll sign up.

Happy President's Day to all the US fishies.

I enjoyed the Olympics last evening, too. I hope the weather gets better in Whistler so that the skiing can go on as planned.

I have a few odds and ends to finish before the Olympics come on - I think there will be some this afternoon. I'll have to check. It's something to look forward to. It was foggy here this morning, but is burning off now, and the sun is starting to peak through, so I'm getting ready for a walk.

Happy Valentine's Day, fishies!

I enjoyed the Olympics last night too. Only thing is I wish I could see them live, not with a 3 hour delay, since I'm in the same time zone!

DH and I worked together on preparing a nice brunch - crepes with orange sauce, fresh fruit, etc. And we are going out to dinner tonight at our favorite neighborhood French bistro. I feel very blessed.

I bought Big City Adventures: Vancouver last night (with the sale) so I could play it as I was watching the games. Somehow it just made sense, and is a game that doesn't require much thinking. I may pick up something else today. There are several on my wish list that I can choose from. But first I have to finish that last chapter of Nightfall Mysteries.

I too watched the opening ceremonies last night. I 'm just keeping my fingers crossed for the weather in Vancouver, since theirs is so much like Seattle. It's just too warm and rainy. I hope the mountains get more snow so they don't have to keep helicoptering it in.

I just made a batch of turkey chili in my crockpot, which will now simmer all day. I'll make some homemade salsa a little later to go on top (haven't tried that before). It's already starting to smell good in here!

i almost bought a game last night, but got distracted by phone calls. Good thing I waited. I can now get it for 40% off. That was a nice surprise.

I hope there are some good Olympic events on today. I'm ready!

I'm ready! Moved my computer to the living room so I can see the TV. Got my snack table right next to me, and my favorite easy chair with a cross stitch project right there. Went shopping to stock up on snacks and goodies so I don't have to go very far.

Today is back to normal, rainy Seattle. Still not too cold, though. Our morning paper showed a picture of downtown Vancouver with daffodils in bloom. Ummm... is this the WINTER or SPRING Olympics starting today?

I'm looking forward to the opening ceremonies tonight. We had thought of getting tickets, but at $1000 and up, we decided the view from our living room TV would be just fine.

Grocery shopping today, along with a few other shopping errands, then moving my computer down to the living room for the next two weeks. It will probably be the most TV I watch all year.

Hi, Teresa - it feels good to get caught up on things like back shows and back demos, doesn't it?

Today I'm going to go through the piles and piles of papers that somehow accumulated when I wasn't looking. And go through my filing cabinet to take out old stuff to make way for the new stuff. Don't like doing it, but I'm going to reward myself every hour or so with game playing, so it shouldn't be too bad.
